3.0 out of 5 stars Maybe mistitled, but not bad. March 11, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
As was mentioned in a previous review, this sampler is only part industrial. The rest is more like technopop.
The actual industrial songs are 'Rise' by Encephalon (really awesome track, very Skinny Puppy-ish), 'Prison Break' by Vigilante/Leather Strip (more Nitzer Ebb in style, not bad), 'Fateless' by Decree (kind of old Ministry style, Land of Rape and Honey era, wasnt too fond of this song though), 'Radical/Relevant' by Massiv in Mensch, Stahlnebel & Black Selket (more in line with Front 242, not bad), and finally 'Eiskalt' by Mona Mur, En Esch (you would expect this to be a bit KMFDM with En Esch involved, and it is a little, but without his trademark guitars).
One further note....while not exactly industrial, the track 'Jawbreaker' is pretty cool nonetheless. You would expect to see some people break dancing to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thanks Artoffact Records and Amazon February 1, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
I first started to be fascinated by industrial music in the '80s when I came across a video of "Control - I'm Here" by Nitzer Ebb on the weekly MTV program "120 Minutes". Such dark, unusual and seemingly scary mechanistic music piqued my interest. Who would make this music? And why? I looked into the genre quite a bit and investigated it and its related genres such as EBM, gothic, darkwave, etc. and came to appreciate it all very much, especially industrial with its emphasis on electronically distorted vocals and harsh electronic beats. Reflecting on my enjoyment of this type of music, I actually think the emphasis often found on alienation, pain and other negative things in these genres of music kind of makes me think about the positive things going on in my life and makes me feel good! A sense of "Wow, I'm SO glad I don't feel like THAT guy." So my enjoyment of, heck, my love of this music is kind of like the farmer who (willingly) works all day with boots on that are a size too small....because it feels SO good at the end of the day to take 'em off!

ANYWAY, this is a great compilation album and worth listening to...provided you know what you're getting into! Download initially the track by Vigilante/Leaether Strip to get a great idea of this album...obviously you'll know pretty quickly just by listening to the samples how the music is...My favorite tracks are the ones by "Massiv in Mensch, Stahlnebel & Black Selket", "Vigilante/Leaether Strip" and "Dead When I Found Her" (isn't industrial such a positive genre?!? That's alright, I like the doom metal group "My Dying Bride", so I'm used to these morose monikers). Hey, this compilation's creative, excellently recorded, artistic, and worthy of your listen, you fans of the genres I mentioned earlier. Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wow, Samplers?! September 22, 2012
Format:MP3 Music
Excellent Idea! Many people complain about the genre, but I think it's great. This shows that Futurepop/EBM/Industrial/Darkwave/Synthpop... Whatever you want to call it (as they all tend to change their style over time from the artists) is showing this music is evolving. Old schoolers might hate it, new comers will love it. Whatever it is, this sampler is great! I am impressed they offer this, as I am a dj who buys music through here and even amazed that Amazon carries such artists just blows my mind.
