retro 80s fun with a Flock of Seagulls feel...but not the best remixes...,
By
This review is from: Industry Pt 2 (Audio CD)
the original mix of industry is a techno pop bouncer that pretty much owes its entire feel, guitar strum, and melody to A Flock of Seagulls' "The More You Love The More You Love"--except for one funky chord change at the end of each line. A male and female share vocals, and it's definitely a catchy track, although, the only thing lacking from the original mix is that the CHORUS rhythm track isn't all that danceable!
And while the dance feel of the remixes is perfect, the remixes remove the techno pop arrangement that makes the original mix so good. the bimbo jones mix is the best, with his typical electro house feel. the Sebastian Ingrosso mix is a noisier electro house track, and doesn't use many of the vocals. I just wish there would have been a dance mix that better retained the sound and feel of the original mix. Definitely check out their first single, "Jane Falls Down." I think it's even better than this track, with some very good mixes. Let's hope they release a full length album.

Sweet!,

This track is amazing, and if it is any indication at the potential The Modern has, they only have up to go, and THAT makes me really want MORE!
The original mix definitely has a new wave 80's feel, with a truly updated sound. This version is only slightly dancey, more rockish and suited for the radio. It is the extended version that takes it in a dancey direction without losing the soul of the song. The Bimbo Jones mixes, however, are the real winners here. They keep the poppiness of the song but make it a true dancefloor thumper. I cannot get over these! The Dub is just different enough from the Vox (or Vocal Mix, for those who don't know) to keep it interesting. I have no opinion on the other mix. This track is amazing, I highly recommend!
