I even learned to speak Italian as a third language, when I was 12, thanks to her music.
I'm not going into extensive details but I feel the Great Laura from the times of "Le Cose che vivi/Las Cosas que Vives" is back.
This album is way better than the last ones she made, especially "Primavera Anticipada/Primavera in anticipo".
Not only the music is great but the songs' lyrics are amazing.
The first single of this album is "Benvenuto/Bienvenido" - What an amazing song to inspire you even if, like me, you're depressed.
The second single is "Non ho smesso mai/Jamás abandoné" - I thought, at first, It was just a ballad but this is one of those songs where you can really appreciate her wonderful voice.
The third single will be "Bastava/Bastaba" - This is a song about two people who loved each other but they ended up hating each other. Lyrics are very good on this one and has a good rhythm. I have the feeling this song will be the biggest hit from this album
Other songs I liked the most were:
"Troppo Tempo/Hace Tiempo": This is a duet with a great Italian singer (Ivano Fossati) who wrote the lyrics and made the music too. One of the best songs from this album here, for me.
"Celeste/Así Celeste": This song has an amazing rhythym and lyrics structure. It has a very powerful meaning in its chorus' It talks about Light blue skies and happiness. It seems she dedicated this song to the child she still doesn't have (Avrai gli occhi di tuo padre/Tendrás los ojos de tu padre/You will have your father's eyes). It's just beautiful.Read more ›
"To all this that will come..."
There has been a lot of hype surrounding Laura Pausini's eleventh studio album, "Inedito". It's been three years since her last new record, and for the last two of those years, she had stepped back from the spotlight. Would she continue with the pop sound of "Primavera in Anticipo" or return to the rock vibe present on "Resta in Ascolto"? Or would she go in a new direction entirely?
The answer to all of these questions is yes. "Inedito" ("Brand New") is a little bit of everything, featuring the pop songs ('Nessuno Sa') that made "Primavera in Anticipo" stand out while maintaining some of the rock vibe of "Resta in Ascolto" ('Come Vivi Senza Me', 'Mi Tengo') and even harkening back to the balladic sounds of "Tra Te E Il Mare" ('Celeste', 'Nel Primo Sguardo'). And, while I initially wasn't sure what to think of it, I now find myself appreciating it more and more.
The record has definite hits on it. The ones that I have come to think of as the Big Four are:
'Benvenuto' ('Welcome'), a pop tune that is nearly identical in structure to 'Mille Braccia' (from her previous studio album) but manages to convey a seriousness that the other one didn't quite have.
'Non Ho Mai Smesso' ('I Never Stopped') is a strong ballad I suspect is about Pausini's break from music. Though I'm not a huge fan of its intro (on flute), it has a climax that is unforgettable.
'Bastava' ('It was Enough') is about a bad breakup and will most likely end up being a huge hit for the singer.Read more ›
Also, Amazon marketplace purchasers will want to check their product carefully. I too received the spanish version instead of the Italian one. In the end, Laura is Laura, and the beauty of her singing really transcends whatever romance language she happens to be using on the CD. So I decided to avoid the hassle and stick with the Spanish version. However, for those of you for whom this matters more...caveat emptor. "Italian version" may be what it says, but that doesn't mean that's what you get.

Her style of the 90s was excellent. Cuando puedas was blasphemous which is a turnoff. I think she could come back.Published on April 7, 2013 by A Martinez
