After being delighted to find and devour this book that had been hidden on my shelf, I was surprised that it had received only two reviews, including a dismissive one of which seemed to reflect a superficial reading.

I found myself surprised and challenged by the profundity and freshness of Ferrucci's observations on the different life paths that we may choose for a rich, meaningful life. To mention a few, these include the paths of beauty, of action, of the will, of devotion and of science.
.
Ferrucci, Assagioli's close associate and confidante, took on the task of compiling the book that Roberto Assagioli intended as the culmination of his life work, but never got to write. (Assagioli was the brilliant founder of the Italian Psychoanalytic Society, who collaborated with Freud, and who brought spirituality and a deep comprehension of art and the humanities into psychotherapy. His stature, in my estimation, is equal to that of Carl Jung.)

The book is replete with wonderful, little known quotes from LeoTolstoi, Albert Schweitzer, Martin Buber, Georgia O'keefe, Krishnamurti, Maria Montessori and many others. They serve to illuminate the essential qualities of the paths that he expands on, allowing the reader to identify where his highest purpose is leading, and to appreciate the nature of the commitment involved.
He gently entices and challenges one to find their deepest fulfillment by providing outstanding role models from whom we can learn and be inspired.

A brief quote from the beginning of "The Way of Action" reads
"No action leaves us the same as before. Whether it be stealing or making a gift, heroism or eroticism, restraint or spontaneity, everything we do produces it's mark on us.

After reading and really appreciating Ferrucci's Kindness book, I purchased this one. I would rate the Kindness book with 5 stars given the chance. This one contains a lot or repetition and not as much substance for me personally.
