Preemie Car Bed Review,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Infant Car Bed for Preemies (Baby Product)
Due to the new car seat testing regulation on infants, at least in Florida, all newborns are required to pass a "car-seat" test prior to release from hospital. This test applies particularly to premature babies, who may not have the level of development to retain oxygen levels and regular heart rate while being strapped in a regular car-seat for the period of one hour. Our son was only released on condition that he leave the hospital in a car-bed, rather than seat. We were grateful that the bed arrived over-night as promised, though were worried when the shipping data on amazon read differently, despite paying for over-night shipping.Unfortunately, the bed is for very premature infants. Our son, at 35.5 weeks hardly fit into the bed and spent an uncomfortable month being wheeled around in a bed where his head and behind were squeezed at both ends.

We didn't use it much, and the nurses at the NICU didn't even know what it was! We had to explain to them, and they still had their doubts that it was safe for the baby to go home in. The company may want to promote it more to hospitals.
