DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!,
By
This review is from: Cute Infant Baby Monkey Halloween Costume, 12-18 Months (Apparel)
The costume itself was made with poor craftsmanship. When I opened the package (3 days after receiving it in the mail) the tail was ripped in 3 different places. I did not even get a chance to try it on my son. I called the company and was told that I should have opened it right away to see if there were any problems, I was also told that they do NOT return costumes. Had I known that I would have not purchased it. I was asked if I could repair it myself and then offered a 5 dollar reimbursement for the repair work...this was 5 days ago and I have yet to see the reimbursement on my credit card.
Do not buy from this company, especially for children's costumes.

The material used to make the costume is thin, you can see right through it.

The good news is that I was planning on altering this monkey suit for my daughter anyway, the bad news is I had to do a lot more work on it than I had planned because of it's poor craftsmanship.
First off, the fabric was a let down. It's an incredibly thin terry cloth. So our daughter had to have 2 layers on underneath it in order to not freeze while out trick or treating. That made the outfit very bulky and no where near as cute as it could have looked. Second, what you see in the image is not what you actually get. In the image, the head piece looks like it's attached (one piece) with the body and it's not. The hood is a tie on, and those ties were made using the same fabric as the monkey suit. Now, you'd think that wouldn't be a big problem since the fabric was thin, but when layered up the way it was to make ties, you ended up with a big ugly bulk of a mess under her chin that never stayed tied and she constantly pulled at, thus pulling the hood off. The hoods shape was also horrible. It's supposed to have this little widows peak to it, but instead, what we got was something way too big for the hood (and our daughter is solidly in size 18months now) and that peak flipped up and back and looked more like a duck beak then a widows peak. I had to rip the binding off completely, trim the flipping fabric and re-sew it back on. I suppose that wasn't a bad thing, since it needed re-sewn anyway, they missed stitches all over the place on it. Since I was doing so much with the hood already, I decided to cut off the ties and sew on snaps so she didn't pull it off. Then you have the matter of since the hood wasn't attached, how horrible it looked being separated from the body. To solve this, I sewed on some fabric velcro all around the inside of the hood and the outside of the neck and it made it look alright. The ears were horribly floppy, they had to be ripped open and stuffed with batting, otherwise she looked more like a dog than a monkey. The back of the outfit was also held on by ties. I hated it so I cut those off and sewed on velcro for the back too. That worked great. The legs were far too short. For a kid you will be carrying around most of the time, the legs need to be longer than shorter. This didn't help with trying to keep her warm while outside. In the end, with all my fixes, the outfit was fine, but the fact that I spent $30 + shipping on this monkey outfit is really frustrating. Quality-wise it was no better than a cheap $10 paper thin costume from a discount store. The manufacturer really needs to review what it's made with and their sewing quality.

Costume is very cute, but beware that it looks a little bit better in the photo. Nonetheless, my daughter looked great in it. And my family had a memorable Halloween.

Disappointed,

I received this costume in the mail this morning and must admit that I expected more. For the price, the craftsmanship is shoddy at best and the costume looks nothing like it does in the photo. I'm disappointed and would never order from this company again.

Nice Costume.,

The costume was cute but the ears do not stay up that well and flop over, also the headpiece is separate and i thought it would be attached. But overall the costume is nice. Thank you.

I ordered this for a friend who specifically chose it because it appeared that the tail curled up. It did not. It was just fabric and hung straight. Quality of the costume was not so great over all. It was returned. Beware all the fine print about restocking fees!

Received right on time. Great quality, and condition. The footies were a little too small to fit over shoes.

I purchased this costume for my son's 2nd halloween photos. The costume headpiece was a little big for my boy, but all in all the costume was really cute.
