1.0 out of 5 stars More trouble than it saves.
I kept this around thinking that at some point I would find a use for it when it would be worth the trouble for the help it gave, but didn't find one.

For younger babies, the head support doesn't work very well. Even if they can hold their heads upright, they still get bounced around a lot more than in another brand of carrier.

The leg holes are a pain, both to get...

It was hard to get your baby in and out and not very pleasant to use. Needless to say I returned it and am extremely happy with the infantino one. Is structure is very simple but is VERY secure. There is hardly any padding between you and your baby which provides the closeness that your baby loves. Getting your baby in and out is a cinch! Overall....this is a wonderful, easy to use carrier that both my baby and I love!!!

When I was pregnant, I bought everything I could think of except a carrier, I thought they were just a waste of money. Boy was I wrong!! Two days ago I purchased this carrier from Infatino, and already my daughter is in love with it! I know it must be comfortable for her because she never wants to get out of it. This has also been wonderful for me. It leaves my arms completely free to do tasks, and its very comfortable and doesnt hurt my back. I love the clip on the side, I strap her pacifier on there, and I dont have to worry about losing it. Theres also a little pocket in front that I can put my keys in when I venture out. The head support wraps all the way around her head (it can be flipped down later on when she learns to hold her head up alone), so I know she is secure. Its also very easy to put her in and get her out. Both the top and bottom sides detatch, so I can take her out when she's asleep and not wake her. This carrier is also so soft and cradles her against my chest. I love this product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best baby item I ever bought!, May 7, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Infantino Cozy Rider (Baby Product)
I am a mother of 3 children. My first two kids were born in the U.S. and since we owned a minivan I didn't feel the need to have an infant carrier/sling...the car seat always worked out well. There were a few times that I felt a soft carrier would work out nicely so I went out and bought one (a different soft carrier). I found the carrier was too hard to use and a real pain ... to get on/off. My third child was born in the big city of London. It was much easier to get around town using public transport or walking. Since the bus system was not always stroller-friendly, I found myself looking at soft carriers again. I was skeptic at first, but after using this carrier for only a week I found myself loving it. My daughter is so happy in this carrier. She can eat in it and sleep in it. She can look out in any direction and keep herself occupied. Very young babies can be put in this carrier facing you which allows them to rest their head on your chest. When the baby is older and has good head and neck support they can be placed in this carrier facing out which allows them to really see the world. The carrier is very easy to use (much easier than the other one I owned) and can be easily washed in the washing machine. Also since it is a soft carrier it can be packed into something as small as a backpack. It adjusts to any type of body by simply adjusting the straps. This carrier caused me NO back or hip pain at all. I only wished I had bought this earlier than I had. It would have saved me a lot of heartache. I really think this was one of the best baby items I have ever purchased.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the baby bjorn, October 8, 2002
This review is from: Infantino Cozy Rider (Baby Product)
I purchased the infantiono from ebay in the uk, the lady selling it had bought it on holiday but had one for when she came back home. I have never seen them in the uk but would definatly recommend them.
I had used the baby bjorn for my first child and used it again for the first few months of my second child however after purchasing this one my bjorn has gone up for sale. Its so much easier to use, to put baby into and much softer and cosy and dosnt pull as much on my back which is a big bounus seeing as my 5 month old baby now weighs 22lb
I would agree that its difficult to get baby out if they are a sleep but there is no reason you cant take the carrier off and lay baby down in the carrier for a sleep.
Over all its brilliant and better than any other carrier i have tried.
p.s I didnt even get sent the instructions but found it very easy to work out how to use

4.0 out of 5 stars Similar to much more expensive products, November 17, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Infantino Cozy Rider (Baby Product)
I purchased this product in a store, and I compared it side-by-side with the Bjorn -- both out of box. After looking at both products carefully, I just couldn't justify spending 4 times more on the Bjorn.

I don't regret choosing the Cozy Rider at all. Its fabric is soft enough for a newborn, and I haven't seen any skin irriation. It is thoughtfully designed, and once you have it properly adjusted, it's only a matter of buckling or unbuckling in two places (definitely take the time to adjust it properly --> baby high on chest, snug fit, cross buckle in back centered).

A few final details: my baby is under 8 lbs, and I think it will be a better product for both of us once she puts on some weight and grows a little more (3 days old); she's comfortable enough in the carrier to fall asleep in it and stay asleep while I go about doing various things; this product feels very safe and secure (again, when properly adjusted); getting the baby in and out is a little bit of a challenge, especially if she's wearing a gown that bunches up easily -- realistically, though, I doubt it's much easier on other designs.

And, last but not least, I bought this product at a local Target for $14.99 + tax. I recommend the product, and buying it at a local store, so you can return it easier and get a replacement more quickly if you don't like it. If you do like it as much as I do, there's plenty of other things in the baby aisle on which to spend the $70 you just saved.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST carrier!!, April 30, 2003
By A Customer

... I work in a day care, and after carring a 13 pound infant in the snuggly for 20 minutes, I couldn't move! i went out a few days later and found this product -and I (as well as my co-workers) LOVE IT! it's easily adjustable for mom or dad or growing babies. I've carried a 23pound baby in this with no strain on my back or stomach, or worry that he'd fall out. the binky clip is great for babies facing you, but not long enough for a forward facing infant. we use this product on a daily basis - it's great for calming the fussy baby, or bonding with a new baby. One of the great features is that if the baby falls asleep, it's easy to remove them without waking. definately worth the money!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not so hard to use, March 26, 2003

This review is from: Infantino Cozy Rider (Baby Product)
This is my 4th carrier. My son is 3 months old, 17 pounds. I have a sling, a hip sling and a snuggli-the stripped down model. I got this one because I needed something that I could wear for extended periods with my baby facing out that would not restrict my movement too much. I bought it used, without instructions. I had no trouble figuring out how to use it. There are a number of adjustments to be made, but you only have to do it once, until your baby grows enough to move to the next setting. I made all the adjustments myself, with my baby in the carrier. It is a lot easier to get him in and out of than the the regular inward facing snugli. there are little buckles and velcro on the sides that you can undo to get baby in and out. I like that I didn't have to force my baby's feet into the holes, there is plenty of room for even big chunky thighs. A lot of people have complained about how hard it was to get baby in and out, but I don't know what they are comparing it to. I love that I could adjust everything to fit my baby perfectly. The carrier is soft and cozy. My baby felt safe and secure. My only complaint is that there is no waist strap, so I did feel a little strain in my back, and I felt a bit front heavy. Aside from that I think this is a really great carrier for the price. The only comparable brands cost more than 3 times as much. I think it's a really good deal.

I kept this around thinking that at some point I would find a use for it when it would be worth the trouble for the help it gave, but didn't find one.

For younger babies, the head support doesn't work very well. Even if they can hold their heads upright, they still get bounced around a lot more than in another brand of carrier.

The leg holes are a pain, both to get the child's legs into the right positions, and to get them back out, and are really small. My daughter outgrew them at about 12 pounds, when she was getting a red mark all of the way around her legs from being in it only a short time with my mother.

A friend of mine has another brand which my daughter adores being carried in, especially front facing, and which seems to be a lot better designed for practical use.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not so good but you get what you pay for, June 18, 2002
This review is from: Infantino Cozy Rider (Baby Product)
I don't particularly like this carrier. It is hard to ge the baby in and out of and isn't very comfortable on your back.
The way to put baby in is from the top. Then you have to wiggle and jiggle the baby into the holes for the feet. And to get the baby out is even more of a challenge. My babies feet would always get stuck in the holes and you would need 4 hands to get the baby free.
Not worth all the trouble....get a Bjorn! Much better.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good carrier for its price!!, February 7, 2004
This review is from: Infantino Cozy Rider (Baby Product)
We got this carrier as a shower gift, and we really like it. I have to agree with the other reviews that it's a little tricky to get baby in and out - but you get what you paid for. We thought about buying the Baby Bjorn, but I think it's too expensive for a carrier that we won't use that much anyways. So we have the Cozy Rider and also the EuroRider(also by Infantino), that is much similar with the Baby Bjorn and have a much better system for getting baby in and out - we can do it without waking the baby, and cost half of the Bjorn.
So if you plan on having the carrier for occasional use only, I recommend the Cozy Rider. I used it in supermarkets, the mall, and at home too, when my baby was fussy and wanted to cuddle all the time. It does start hurting your back after a while(30-40 minutes or so), but it didn't bother me that much. The EuroRider has more padding, which helps a lot, but cost twice as much as the CozyRider(we bought it gently used though!!)
So, bottom line, this is a great carrier for its price - easy to adjust and our baby loves it. If you plan on hiking or wearing it for longer periods of time, you might want to look into a carrier with more padding(like the Euro Rider or Baby Bjorn). If not, this one will do just fine!!! I recomend it.
