This is the first toy my newborn learned to enjoy. My husband would move her arms, batting at the dangling animals, in time to the music. After awhile, we could just put her down and turn on the music, and she would immediately begin to kick and wave her arms, sending all the toys dancing and jiggling. It was SO cute!! The monkey gym taught her to reach for and grab things. She especially likes to hold on to the monkey's legs and the dangling star on the banana. The arch is at a perfect height for newborns on their backs. The monkey gym also is a good place for tummy time. There is a little curvy pillow, sort of like a boppy, which I stick under her chest to help her with tummy time.

I like the fact that the mat and toys are machine washable. The play mat is made of a strong blue fabric on the bottom, soft patchwork-like on the top with various colors, patterns, and materials. It is lightly padded and keeps her from direct contact with the carpet (which I heard has unhealthy chemicals). And it is wide enough for her to roll over on. The tikki hut has a little star on top that starts the music when pushed by a parent (or a toddler?). Colored lights blink in time with the music, which plays long enough for me to have a quick shower. I also LOVE how are easy to put away the mat by lifting the the cloth-covered foam arches, which causes the whole mat to fold up. All the toys stay inside the mat, and you can easily tuck it away for storage.

The only thing I don't like is the placement of the toy holders: the ones on the top are too close together and the toy holders on the bottom are too far from the center of the mat. But all the toys are removable, and you can also put new toys on the toy holders. When the baby was learning to sit up, she would hold on to the arch and the dangling animals for support.

This mat is a great place to leave the baby for a little alone time... but also good for play with mommy and daddy. In fact, we liked the music and played it so much that both of us had the monkey gym song stuck in our heads for days.

My baby loves it and so does momma!!! It's very light and easy to move, it is very colorful and has a few toys to play with, you can customize the layout and it's an all round great product, best one I've seen yet :D

Bought this for my grandson. Love the colors! Lots of stimulation, keeps his attention! Highly recommend.

This mat is OK, but I think there are better products out there for the price. The toys are a bit boring and the "motion-activated" music hut doesn't really respond to any motion. I have to whack it a few times to make it change the song or start over. Sure the colors are cute but I would go with the Fisher-Price Rainforest gym instead. My baby played with that at another friend's house and enjoyed it more.

The main problem with this gym is the fact that the arches are SO LOW that the toys hit my 8 week old in the face if they're close enough for him to touch. Also, the "mirror" is cheap bendy material and the music is too loud.

I was looking at a friend's pictures and bought a the one she has her baby using, since this one just isn't going to cut it. Very disappointing.

I was so excited about that product and really wanted to like it after all the nice reviews but the hippo became a teether toy and not a rattle anymore (or at least the one i got).... which put all the toys as teether :(

I liked the little house with the lights and the music but that was pretty much it...
The colors in real are darker that on the picture, and all the same intensity, no contrast whatsoever (the blue is not a light blue like in the picture but a pretty strong darker blue, same thing with the yellow in the background of the monkey face)

Also amazon state 2x15 minute music and the packaging states 2x10 minute music... I didn't time the thing but i thought it was a little shady.

the rattle hippo who became a teether like all the other toys was pretty much a no go for me so I returned it.

I bought this for my month old son. This was worth every penny. he loves it & is learning alot from it, he is starting to grab the toys, first he would punch the toys. I think this has been great for a young infants development. i would highly recommend this. this would be a great baby shower gift

Bought this for my nephew & he loves it. Keeps him busy with all the great colors.

I gave this as a shower gift. The baby is only 1 week old, but the mom has already put it together and has it on her floor for the baby! The colors are great and I'm sure that the baby will love this!
