This book was a great read & only took me about 2 hours to finish it. Fast paced zombie book that draws you in immediately. If you are a zombie aficionado, this book is for you! Lots of gore and gunning down (and in some cases, using a hammer) the zombies! I can't wait until the 2nd installment of this series comes out in summer!

ok i read the reviews, read the sample, sounded ok, so i bought the book. it was ok at best. i put up with the typos, and the grammer mistakes. but this author's mind was working faster than he could type and make a lot of mistakes. the charactors were the stupid type we all yell at while watching horror flicks. there was no charactor developement. i was around 80% of the way through the book and had to put it down. its very annoying when an author cant even keep up with their charactors. this is a part of what im talking about. "frank left the group, headed down the drive and turned onto the road. mike new frank was lost but he had a wife to think about. mike, lori, and frank entered the house and introduced themselves. frank and lori sat at the table." ok when i read that i had to go back and reread it to make sure thats what i was reading and sure enough. frank left the group and then the very next paragraph frank was still with the group. im not even going to get started with rob's 12 year old daughter getting lost in zombieville while he went to rescue other people....really?!? my daughter would come before anyone else. this book was shallow. save your money. get some editing done, keep up with the charactors, and give them some brains!!! cool cover art though.

I won't detail the grammar and spelling mistakes scatered like so many seedds throughout the noval as I readed it. Or the standard plot; the Fast and Furious movies are more creative.
Ok honestly, I am offended that I had to pay actual money for a poorly edited and often poorly written book. As another reviewer mentioned, you have to wonder if the author cared enough about his own work. And a trilogy no less. Someone else will have to comment on the second and third books as I won't be reading them.
Plot summary: Something happens, zombies now exist, group of survivors with paper-thin characters fight to survive. Maybe Asylum could make a Sci-Fi channel version with Dean Cain or Lou Diamond Phillips. Or, dare I say it, both of them. And boobs.

I was able to pick this up for free, on My kindle fire. I am familiar with Anthony izzos work. I really like it. And this is a great start to a series.
