More About the Author

The #1 New York Times bestselling author, Sherrilyn Kenyon, who is proud of her mixed Cherokee heritage, lives a life of extraordinary danger... as does any woman with three sons, a husband, a menagerie of pets and a collection of swords that all of the above have a major fixation with. But when not running interference (or dashing off to the emergency room), she's found chained to her computer where she likes to play with all her imaginary friends. With more than thirty million copies of her books in print, in over one hundred countries, she certainly has a lot of friends to play with too.

Her books appear regularly at the coveted #1 bestselling spot. This extraordinary bestseller continues to top every genre she writes. Her current series include: The Dark-Hunters, The League, Chronicles of Nick and Beladors. Since 2004, she has placed more than 80 novels on the New York Times list in all formats including manga.

Her Lords of Avalon novels have been adapted by Marvel and her Dark-Hunter novels are now a New York Times bestselling manga published by St. Martins, and her Chronicles of Nick series is adapted by Yen Press. Her Dark-Hunters and Chronicles of Nick series are both soon to be major motion picture releases.

Summary: Nick just found out his girlfriend, Nekoda, is set out to kill him. And with Casey all over him, that is the end to that relationship. When Nick starts hearing voices and chandelier's stop dropping on him... Nick wonders, could she already be trying to kill him? Or is something else going on?

Review: I was dreading this book. I love Nick and every reincarnation of him (squire, DH, Ambrose, kid). But the Chronicles of Nick (CON) series drives me crazy. The last two books were only marginally okay. However, this book is an appreciated improvement.

I think the biggest issues I have with the books is I find Nick and Nekoda's relationship unbelievable. Thankfully, they were broken up through most of the series. Nekoda's absence contributed greatly to the quality of this book as we saw Nick focus on his other relationships. Romantically, he was almost involved with Casey (but was he? ::wink wink::), and there were hints of a possible future with Brynna.

Inferno's pacing was very good. There was a good balance between the action, the history, and the developing story. We see a lot of Acheron in this book, and seeing their relationship develop breaks my heart (since I know what happens down the road). We get quite of bit of history on some of the other characters, like Caleb and Nekoda. We find out what Nekoda is, though, there remains a lot of questions unanswered. We met some new characters and met more Devereaux sisters. Tiyana, we met, and we know of her future... and how it was changed. I wonder if there is something there we are missing.

The ending of the book dropped the book from 4 start to 3 star. The same problem that shows up in the last two books show up here. The plot is wrapped up quickly, and you are left with an annoying cliffhanger.

As always I really enjoyed this book. Nick is growing into his new powers and has a new girlfriend. Or, does he? I really hate that we have to wait so long for the next book. I now have lots of questions and I look forward to some answers!

Possible spoilers!

I love all of Sherrie's books, but what is up with the ending? Is this going to change all the dark hunter history as we know it?! WTH?!?!?!

I love Sherrilyn Kenyon and I have all of her books from the Dark Hunter, Were Hunter, Dream Hunter, CON, Belador, and League series. SO, I am a huge fan. This book as good, but not great. The whole you make your own choices thing and building up your self esteem was a bit much. I know those are serious topics, but a lot of it could have been cut out. I loved hearing about Caleb's past more. He is my favorite in the series next to Nick (of course). I liked seeing more of Nekoda's background and also Adarian's. It helps to understand characters more on why they act they way they do. I love it when Sherrilyn brings Ambrose or full blown Malachai in the picture, so that we can see what we are actually up against. I also loved that Ash was in this book way more and we learned more about the Malachai species.

All in all, it is a great information and background book. Not as much action as others, but it is needed to move the series forward.
