5.0 out of 5 stars Scott Mosher: Inferno, April 19, 2006
This review is from: Inferno (Audio CD)
INFERNO is Mr. Mosher's third CD (following VIRTUALITY in 2001 and AMBIENT EARTH in 1996) and continues in his tradition of synthesizing heavy progressive rock and ambient electronic music embellished by melodic guitar work, mellifluous vocals and impressionistic lyrics. INFERNO delves further into the worlds of hauntingly melodic and dark evocative music. With a stronger emphasis on vocal arrangements, guitar-based dynamics and dramatic song structures, INFERNO makes a bold statement as the next step in artistic evolution... and fits all head sizes.

5.0 out of 5 stars OUR AMBIENT WORLD, October 22, 2009

QUICK....look up in the dictionary what "ambient" means.....i'll wait....too late!!!i will help you out.the definition is actually quite simple.think of it in one of its other tenses.....perhaps....ambience.i heard a joke in my past...."the piggly-wiggly is just a walmart without the ambience"....i found this to be hilarious.are we not aware of the ambience which surrounds us?think of your vacation to hawaii,or a weekend junket to vegas......ambience all around us.
ambient is a simpler defining of this word, which i have just described.its meaning is "encircling",and "surrounding".
preston tucker,a personal idol, and american icon, was quoted in court defending himself from the "BIG 3" auto makers in the 1940's,whose primary occupation was to shut down his genious ,which is incorporated by all 3 manufacturers presently,as saying..."we've beaten the enemy (hiroshima, which was begun by the enemy at pearl harbor),and now we stand guilty feeling we owe them,so we allocate millions upon millions of dollars to rebuild them"."will there come a time that they will forget our founded retaliation?"how many generations will this effect?" a visionary himself added...."will they surpass us in technology?","will there come a day that we will depend on that technology, and buy it,at a cheaper cost to promote our corporate greed?""he as a proud american said he could never see that happening"in just three short years preston was dead of a massive heart attack, brought on by the stresses of that trial, which in my eyes he did vindicate himself, but not in enough time to see his own prophesy become reality.who owns more than half of american prime corporations?and who stands at the coffee pot and utters slogans such as "well at least i have a job?" you do!!!!
FOR REAL PEOPLE,WAKE UP!!!!!!
scott mosher, for 5 cds has been screaming at you to open your eyes,he has created stark images of what lay ahead as the gifted artist he is.the sun may shine brightly for you,but the darkness that creeps below you is growing to steal your dreams of a perfect democracy.the politicians are demographically pulling in people who have not voted for years ,or ever.they tell you what you want to hear,as they pad their pockets with corporate money to serve them, and forget about you who elected them into office.broken promises, accomplishing none of the goals they promised during their well funded campaigns, and give less than a damn about you.
anyway ,back to inferno.......
scott opens with "DESCENT"...an instrumental journey setting up the following ambient messages and fabrics of his creative musical stylings.in the title track we are exposed to what i just wrote about...."INFERNO",burns with visions of possibilities,if we are to remain the sheep we have become.it is a dark and eerie look into what is underway right now under our very noses.it shrieks...."QUESTION EVERYTHING"....20% of the population own 80% of what is worth owning.....very little controls a very lot.another instrumental follows,"DARK SUN",followed by the strongest track on this outing, and continues the bleak message....."MINDFIELD" is a very deep track, though the music is a deterrent from the actual message.
"LEFT BEHIND" allows a man the right to talk to his loved one about the impending doom, but she ,in fear ,will leave him hanging.
without going any further,do you get the point?
destiny is a plan not of our making or will.we are sheperded into false hopes, dreams, and promises.take a stand and be counted......do not allow history to repeat itself yet again.......
this is your empowerment call........
an awesome and mind bending cd which simply must be heard and read lyrically.....
