Thought provoking, September 11, 2005
This review is from: The Infidels (Paperback)
David Anderson provides a healthy debate about the basic pillars of the three main religions. In this book he questions the validity of following the often dogmatic ideologies which have sprung up to support the religions of today. I feel that the gist of his argument is the polarisation of todays religious debate does not futher the interests of mankind and the world as a whole.
I would recomend this book to people who are willing to challenge their own ingrained or inherent prejudices.
The book has given me a great hope and feeling of a shared humanity; we have the capacity for great evil but in unity and strenght of will good can occur.

A must read to understand source of terror, July 14, 2005
This review is from: The Infidels (Paperback)
The book tells how the Hebrew teachings are the source of the Christain and Islam versions of violence. The author does a scholarly job of comparison of the three religions. A person with fundamental beliefs may not appreciate the condemnation of the my way is the only way to heaven by the author or that those beliefs are the source of religous based violence.
