Book Description

March 2000

No doctrine is more central to the message of the restored gospel or to our individual happiness than the infinite and eternal Atonement of Jesus Christ. In this clearly written and powerfully moving book, Tad Callister focuses on the infinite power, coverage, and depth of the Atonement, and how the most profound blessings of the gospel are eternally linked to it. The Savior experienced infinite suffering as he brought the Atonement to pass, but because of the Atonement we are capable of experiencing the blessings of the resurrection and exaltation, of repentance, of freedom, of peace of mind, and of the healing of the Savior's infinite love.

The Infinite Atonement is an outstanding book that can be read from cover to cover or used as a reference to study selected aspects of the Atonement. It is destined to become a classic.

A gospel doctrine must read., April 07, 2000

This is a must read for any gospel doctrine student. You will never look at the atonement the same way. If you liked BELIEVING CHRIST, you will love this book!!

Outstanding information, October 11, 2000
By Matt

From the first page to the last, I was hooked on 'The Infinite Atonement.' Each point made was supported by excellent scripture references or quotes by general authorities. It is the kind of book that makes you stop and think, and ponder on what you are reading. It covers a broad spectrum of how infinite the atonement really is. This book is one of the best I've ever read. 'The Infinite Atonement' has the Matt Macey seal of approval!

First of all this book is awesome!. I learned so much about the atonement through it. Second Elder Callister is not a General Authority, he is an Area Authority Seventy.Although his brother Elder Douglas L. Callister is a General Authority. A must read on the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sensitive and Thoughtful, January 9, 2004

Mr. Callister gives us a thoughtful and lyrical view of the most important event in human history. The book is well-written and easy to understand. What I especially appreciate, however, is Mr. Callister's sensitive, obviously hard-won personal testimony of Jesus Christ. His conclusions come from years of perceptive living combined with a conscious effort to understand what it means to be redeemed. I highly recommend this book. It is one of the best efforts by any Latter-day Saint. Perhaps some of the doctrine is not familiar to people of different faiths. That does invalidate the thought and beautiful testimony of the writer.

5.0 out of 5 stars A STORY FOR ALL SEASONS, October 4, 2003

This review is from: The Infinite Atonement (Hardcover)
This book was written to be an expression of the author's love. It clearly presents the topic of the atonement in a thorough manner. If you desire to comprehend the topic, purchasing it is an essential step in the right direction. There may be doctrinal issues that will perplex those not of the same faith as the author, but every college student will recognize that this has never stopped them from studying other men's ideas. The atonement is expressed as the answer to the demands of justice, insomuch as it draws power from the principle of mercy and agency; and, I think it explains the words of Socrates spoken in Crito, "that not life, but a good life, is to be chiefly valued."

5.0 out of 5 stars Magnificent, November 6, 2000
This review is from: The Infinite Atonement (Hardcover)
This is by far the best book I have ever read regarding the Atonement. Tad Callister's fluid writing style reminds me a lot of Elder Maxwell's. If you don't own a copy of this book, get one now. It would make a wonderful Christmas gift. I hope to see some more books from this same author in the future.
