Editorial Reviews

Full title 'Infinite Colours, Infinite Patterns (The Best Of Kaleidoscope)'. UK compilation for one of the most eclectic bands of the psychedelic era, who played an amalgam of folk, blues, jazz, bluegrass, rock & many ethnic styles. Featuring David Lindley, who later found fame with Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt & James Taylor, & Chris Darrow of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Drawn from their classic first three albums, along with four rare singles, including 'Nobody', recorded with Larry Williams & Johnny 'Guitar' Watson. 2001 release.

This review is from: Infinite Colours Infinite Patterns: Best Of (Audio CD)
Kaleidoscope was a band that fused so many diverse stayles of music--world, blues, folk, bluegrass, pop, rock--that it was inevitable they would be little more than a cult band in their own time. In today's (non-mainstream) musical melting pot, they're still a cult band, but worth checking out for the incredible playing the five members, the dazzling array of instruments, and the sheer eclectism of the music. Just incredible stuff.
