Graphic Audio have taken one of the best comics in years and produced a unique listening experience - a movie in your mind! --Reviewed by Gary Greenwood
The DC Comics series "Infinite Crisis" was one of the largest comic book events of recent years and it's fitting that such a huge story - in both size and scope - should receive an equally impressive adaptation. The audio version manages to find a balance between the narrative and the background information that is essential in understanding such a large story with an even larger cast. Descriptions of the characters, coupled with the excellent actors who lend their voices to the story, allow the listener to easily picture not only the iconic characters - such as Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman - but also the perhaps lesser known outside the comic world. Fine vocal acting is paired with both sound effects and music that compliment the narration and which combine to create an outstanding performance. Wow! Just freaking wow!,

This review is from: Infinite Crisis - Part 1 (DC Comics) (Audio CD)
I have made it through 2 of the CDs so far, and have to say this is impressive. Unlike most audiobooks, you get a different voice actor for each part. That helps the depth immensely. In addition, there are sound effects galore. When things are blowing up, your speakers are doing crashing and rumbling. Bullets fly to the sounds of bullets. Crashing buildings sound like a good sound special effect from a good movie.
This is not an audiobook. It is a dramatic play of a graphic novel, in the same vein as a very well produced old time radio drama--but with crisp sound and an incredible plot. It give a great amount of entertainment for just a few dollars.

Possibly the coolest thing ever,

This review is from: Infinite Crisis - Part 1 (DC Comics) (Audio CD)
I've never read any DC Comics - or any comics, for that matter - and I couldn't quite wrap my brain around listening to one, so I had absolutely no idea what to expect going into this. Suffice to say, I was extremely impressed. The format of the story is much like an old-fashioned radio show. A multi-voiced cast blends perfectly with sound effects to create exactly what the tagline touts: a movie in your mind. The plot was engaging and exciting, and I found I needed no prior knowledge of any of the characters or their backstories to follow along (I should note that a friend of mine who grew up on DC Comics also listened to this CD, and then raved about it for weeks... so it gets a thumbs up from avid DC Comic readers, too). I order audio materials for a public library, and was so impressed by this CD that I ordered several other GraphicAudio CDs to add to our collection - and they're extremely popular. Definitely worth a listen!

More than a Book & Less than a Movie,
This review is from: Infinite Crisis - Part 1 (DC Comics) (Audio CD)
First off, I want to say that this review covers both parts one & two. One other disclaimer, I have read the original source material. This is the first audiobook I have bought in quite a while. In days gone by(the audio cassette days) I had a fairly extensive collection of them (actually I still have all stuffed away in a box). I enjoyed Infinate Crisis quite a bit. It claims to be a movie in my mind and I would say it is not quite that but it is more than a standard audio book. a cast of actors, sound effects and score elevate it. It does truly drag you into the story, I was fully engrossed.
