Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Oklahoma's Ester Drang has produced a precise and delicate album on their second full-length and Jade Tree debut, Infinite Keys. Cinematically inspired and atmospheric, it is a spectral wall of sound that reaches out in several directions at once without losing its central focus, emanating a feeling of timelessness that melds well with its psychedelic elements. 2003.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential album for any true music lover., June 19, 2003
By John Wayne (death to life lives in my kitchen and eats chicken pot-pie!) - See all my reviews
SF59 put on one of the worst shows I've ever seen in my life, but the band that played before them was incredible. Until that moment, I had never heard of Ester Drang. After their set, I had to buy the album, and I can honestly say it was the best $ I've ever spent PERIOD. The album is a soundscape of epic proportions that will make you feel as though you could float away into oblivion. If you're a fan of My Bloody Valentine, Radiohead, or SF59's early stuff, do yourself a favor and buy this album. You'll thank me later.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of 2003's best..., May 3, 2004
Ester Drang may not be very popular right now, but this is one of the most solid bands to come around in quite some time. I was very impressed with this album, even more so than their previous offering. Truly great music that doesn't really sound like anyone else these days, and also offers a very positive message through those sometimes hard-to-distinguish vocals.

An Oklahoma native, I haven't had the chance to "lie down in Oklahoma's plain and listen to the album," because the part of Oklahoma I live in (and that Drang hails from) is more populous than Jacksonville.

Regardless, great album, good study music as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best alblum of 2003 you didn't hear, January 30, 2004
This record is one of the most rewarding CD's that I have. Its deep, but its not depressing. Its happy and dark at the same time. Kinda like Death to Smoochy. They are just as impressive, if not more so, live. You can definately hear some Flaming Lips influence. I guess they have that Oklahoma thing going on. This just barely tops Golden West, so to someone who has never heard Ester Drang before, I would suggest Infinite Keys.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Rewarding
Saw them open for SF59 and was blown away. Infinite Keys is subtler than their live show, but is a very strong album you won't regret picking up.
