I actually have the 2" and it is by far the best curiling iron I have ever used. My hair is the type that has always been hard to curl even with a "gallon" of hairspray, it just would never hold. (I have long/thick hair) I barely put any hairspray on and my curls were awesome loose curls. I plan on getting the 1 1/4" inch one also for some tighter curls.

You know how the skinny ends of your hair you usually have to use your fingers to wrap the hair around because it will slide right through? That didnt happen with this. No matter how skinny the ends of my hair were or how skinny a section of hair I did, the curling iron gripped the hair right to the very end so I never had crappy looking ends or burned my fingers wrapping it around.

I have nothing negative to say about this curling iron at all.

I used this for the first time this morning, and I CAN'T believe the difference tourmaline makes! I had a ceramic iron before, and there is NO comparison! I wouldn't bother spending the big $ on chi or T3 - for the price you cannot beat this one!

I bought the 1-1/4" model and I love it! I had a 1" curling iron that is over 20 years old that takes forever to heat up and forever to set a curl. I bought this one for my daughter and I and couldn't be happier. It heats up super fast and curls very quickly. The curls last at least 8 hours and I am not one to put a lot of product in my hair. It takes no time at all to curl my hair that is just above my shoulder and slightly layered. It smooths my cuticles and gives my hair a wonderfully healthy look. I saw comments about the power button being in an odd spot and people accidentally shutting it off when using it, this has not happened to me but sometimes I can feel the button under my hand. Maybe because I make myself be aware of the possibility helps prevent it. I would buy this product again!

I've been looking around for a good tourmaline ceramic curling iron and went with this one for now because of the low price. I do like it and as far as I can tell it does not seem to damage my hair. Maybe in the future I'll go with a pricier one but for now this one seems to do just fine.

Pros:
- heats up fast and has different heat settings
- the protective cover comes in handy
- can't beat the price
- tourmaline ceramic - better than just ceramic or
worse, bare metal
- looks nice
- swivel cord
- auto shut off

Cons:
- the on/off switch is in a bad spot on the handle.. I
am constantly shutting off the iron by accident
- the cool tip is not long enough to hold onto, making
it easy to burn your fingers
- I honestly have not had this iron more than a week
so I can't say there aren't more cons but I'll
update this if I do find any

This is an awesome curling iron, which heats up super fast and even across the entire curling surface (no hot spots). The multi-heat settings and LCD readout are also clever and very useful features as well. The cost is amazing and the shipping from Amazon couldn't be faster! So, with all of these raves, why do I not give it a perfect 5 star rating? Well, two minor quibles keep me from giving it a perfect score. First of all, the LCD panel displays the temperature setting that you selected, but it gives you no indication of when the iron has been heated to that setting. There should be some sort of visible notification to let the user know that the iron has achieved the desired temperature. Also, included in the box is a clever slip on cover that you can supposedly slide over the iron, after it has been shut off, to protect you from the hot surface of the slowly cooling iron. However, the slip on sleeve becomes extremely hot to the touch, so it offers very little protection. And since the cover is plastic I am afraid that it could possibly melt and/or cause some damage to the iron surface.

Overall I think this curling iron deserves a solid 4 and 1/2 stars, but falls short of a perfect 5. I feel very confident in recommending it to anyone looking for a high quality iron that will meet or exceed their expectations. This iron is a top performer with just a couple of little shortcomings.

This iron heats very fast & works well. My only complaint is that when you put it down the hot part tips forward which will burn whatever it's on. So I recommend keeping it on a something heatproof. Maybe a glass type plate or mirror.

Good Stuff:
-- It treats my hair well -- no snags, no burning, less frizz, and it's smooth when you pull it down the length of your hair.
-- Multiple heat settings.
-- Heat cover for the rod when you're done.

Not-so-Good Stuff:
-- The tip that people have complained about is indeed too small for me too. Or, I think more exactly, it's shaped wrong. It's too easy to let your fingers slide down the tip and touch the rod. I've burned myself several times, which I almost never did with the tube-shaped tips on other curling irons. I like the fact they made it ribbed so you can grip it nicely, but it just seems a little too short and shaped wrong.
-- Other people have also mentioned the power switch being a bit of a problem. On mine, the switch is depressed into the handle, so I haven't had this issue. But I did accidentally turn the heat up to its highest once just by twisting the curling iron around, curling my hair per normal.

I posted pics, so people can see and decide for themselves. All around, I like this curling iron quite a bit. The benefits of having a curling iron that doesn't burn my hair or pull hairs out one-by-one, outweigh the minor issues I've managed to avoid since discovering.
