Product Description

New for 2005 is the redesigned .7-Series that features UniPivot a patented rotating tweeter system for perfecting sound imaging regardless of mounting location. The tweeter is also tunable on the spot! With a turn of the tweeter, you can adjust the emphasis level without having to access the external crossover. These new edge-driven Metal Matrix Diaphragm (M.M.D.) tweeters are similar to those found in high-end home audio speakers. That means mobile audiophiles will appreciate the increased power handling and reduced distortion at high output levels. The SLI (Super Low Impedance) high-output design extracts every last watt from the amplifiers source, increasing overall system output and efficiency. Also new for 2005 is the Neodymium motor structure with integrated heatsink. This cutting-edge motor technology provides massive power handling while maintaining a minimal mounting depth. The integrated heatsink wicks heat away from the motor structure, increasing power while reducing distortion. The redesigned .7-Series mid and woofer cones feature woven-glass fiber material for unmatched stiffness and damping ability. The result is the cleanest, snappiest mid-bass with absolutely no coloration or distortion. The cone also features Plus One sizing and a hi-roll butyl rubber surround, which maximizes the cone area and excursion capability for maximum performance at high volume. Redesigned, nonconductive, cast polymer baskets are tooled for shallow mount applications. Each Kappa speaker comes with a computer designed outboard crossover that has been voice-matched for total accuracy.

5.0 out of 5 stars kappa 52.7 in Jeep Wrangler TJ sound bar, March 18, 2008

This review is from: Infinity 527I Kappa Series 5-1/4-Inch 2-Way Multielement Loudspeaker (Pair) (Electronics)
Installed these in my factory sound bar in 97 jeep TJ wrangler. Wiring was easy. No convient way to secure cross over in sound bar so taped it inside it with out issue. Used factory grill covers to hide them. Didn't want to advertise these because a jeep is easy to break into. Sounds great and 100% better then cheap factory speakers. Previously on the highway I couldn't hear the stereo due to all the road noise. Now I hear the music fine. Will buy these again and install in the dash.

WOW! For little speakers these ROCK! I bought these for my Harley Davidson Electra Glide. They replaced a set of Kenwoods. What a difference. I'm hearing instruments and even vocals that I never heard before on songs I've been listening to for decades. Granted they don't do bass very good, but then again I didn't expect much bass from a 5 1/4" speaker. If you want bass get woofers! The high sensitivity rating gives more volume with less distortion than the Kenwoods. You'll be hard pressed to get better sound from 5 1/4"!

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent sound.... IF you have a sub., April 21, 2008
This review is from: Infinity 527I Kappa Series 5-1/4-Inch 2-Way Multielement Loudspeaker (Pair) (Electronics)
I was pretty dissapointed with these when I first installed them. They cannot handle the lower frequencies therefore they fuzz all the time at medium to high volumes. However, I just got a sub and am now running a high-pass filter on these. They sound great now! Don't get these if you aren't running a high-pass filter on them.
