Infinity Basslink,
By
This review is from: Infinity Basslink 200-Watt, Dual 10" Powered Subwoofer System (Black) (Electronics)
After installing a new head unit and upgraded speakers, I found the improvement over the factory stereo to be very worthwhile. But I soon realized I was missing something: Bottom End. The tweeters and midranges are great but without solid bass, it just wasn't complete. My home system has a full range of sound, and the bass is so solid you can feel it. I needed this in the Jeep!
Asking around, I learned that enclosed, self-powered subwoofers are a good choice for Jeeps because of the space-savings. One name kept coming up - Infinity Basslink. This item fits in the small area behind the rear seat of a Jeep Wrangler with no trouble - even if you have the Add-A-Trunk. It is easy to run the power and speaker leads back to the unit and tie them into the main stereo. Of course you can have a technician do it but if you can wire your home stereo, this is the same deal. I installed mine with a little extra wire in case I need to move it higher when crossing streams. Sound? This thing KICKS! It is tight, accurate, and gives that extra bottom-end I was looking for. Get this - you will have no regrets!

These days it's such a great thing to get a product and it exceeds your expectations, this is one of them.
What a workhorse this product is and takes up such a small area (about 1 square foot) It kicks out so much bass, it's amazing, unless you want to rattle the car next to you, this is the sub you need I listen to everything from the beatles to broadway to dance music, sounds incredible, plenty of settings so you can fine tune it. ENJOY

LOVE IT,

I have a honda S2000 2 seater convertible and so space is a major issue. The tech that was about to install the unit warned me not to get my hopes too high as the trunk mounting was going to limit the response and that convertibles are difficult to add bass too. I told him to go ahead and we'd see, 2 hours later when I picked it up we were both pleasantly suprised. The sound is kicking! If anything it's way more power than I need. I am running 2 componant infinity speakers in the front run on a 2 channel amp and an alpine headunit. I'm very pleased with the results, you will not regret buying this item!

I recently purchased this basslink and had it professionally installed. I used to have two 10" JL w7's with a 500 rms amp and fully sealed box. Now I must say that compared to those this does not even come close. However, this speaker is very clean bass and very loud. I have a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer and this is in my trunk along with my stock stereo. It sounds amazing. Very Very loud straight out of the box. Clear low tones and very responsive. If you are like me and research the hell out of every option buy this speaker. I spent two weeks reading reviews for this item, the MTX , the BOSS, and even considered doing a single 10" in a smaller box with a 150 watt amp. For the price and quality you cannot go wrong with the Basslink. Stop thinking and buy this, you will be happy and can thank me for it.

As with most other reviews I found this sub to an impressive little guy. It is built well on the outside, it comes with multiple mounts for horizontal or vertical mounting and the remote db gain is nice. After a good bit of research like others, I decided this was the one for my needs. Again like most I was looking to fill out the lows not anger the neighbors. I am past that now just as the need for huge bass. Now for the truth. Most reviews are shortly after the purchase with the exception of the last post. Which I might add that I am happy for him and his speaker's longevity. I however cannot make that statement. Let me start by saying I take care not to abuse electronics or motors, it's kind of weird but if you are taking the time to read these reviews I think you understand. It seemed that the day my warranty expired so did my trusty sub. So off to contacting Infinity. Well good luck with that. I thought there were synonymous with great customer service, you know being in Lexus's and all that. Well that just is not true. I can't tell you how poorly I was treated. Really it was just lack of any treatment really. I am in the market for a new one now and it won't be basslink.

Great for the period of the warranty...,

I am also a victim of the dreaded "dead after warranty" problem.
While the Basslink was working, it was perfect. It filled out the lows in the music on my car stereo with rich, clean bass. I couldn't have been happier. But about 1 year into ownership, the Basslink would start randomly cutting out for seconds at a time, then would come back on and work normally for weeks before repeating. The problem then increased in frequency until it finally cut out for good right after the warranty period expired. The power light still comes on and the wiring is still securely connected, but no sound. I looked around, and it seems like I'm not the only one. Check out all the negative reviews on the Crutchfield site. The positive reviews are probably from people who have had it in their car for a month or two and are dazzled by its performance, as I was. I loved the way this thing sounded when it was working. It was amazing that such good, clear bass could come from such a small package. It's a real shame that they keep having these problems - I'd buy another one if it weren't for this, but at the current price it's just too much to be considered "disposable" after a year or two. For the great sound it produced while it was working, I give it 3 stars. For it's reliability, I subtract two, leaving 3 stars overall.

Well, my first Basslink lasted 3 years. So why did I get another? Simple, it's such a simple installation and provides just the right amount of performance in my truck (and extended cab with the unit under the seat). I'll like get the original fixed and keep it as spare since these units are not noted for their reliability.
Given the above, if you want good sound, and easy install, and are limited on space, this is a good unit, not great (reliability), but good.

I bought this here for $100 less than BestBuy wanted for it. Installation was extremely simple. All you have to buy is wire for the power and ground. You don't even have to run a remote-on wire if you splice it with the speaker wires. I have a Yaris Hatchback and it sounds amazing in there. The output on this thing is far more than I expected. I am very please with my purchase :)

I have been an Audio Enthusiast for quite a few years now. Weather it be the First tiny Rockford Fosgate 8-inch Sub with a homemade box of plywood I had in the beginning, to the Big Boomers I would use from competition. I still have a love for anything that makes great sound.
Recently, I had my old Larger system stolen, and I was looking for a quick fix of bass to keep me going in and out of traffic to work and back. Infinity, as most of the higher ups know, used to be ULTRA SUPREME quality, and incredibly pricey. As of the recent years, they have decided to offer mid level items to the mass public to help build their name, and of course, make more business. The Infinity Basslink is, in my opinion, their master brain child for that genre. It is a solid 10" Woofer, with quality surround (for those of you that don't know, surround is the foam "surrounding" the woof, that allows it to travel back and forth) that can take a beating, and a great cone structure to actually push out multiple different types of bass frequencies at different speeds. The Box is quite petite, yet still allows for some air to be moved around, allowing more of a boom, making this small package surprisingly impressive. The Exterior plastic cover, and the grill for the speaker itself are very firm, and can take a beating if needed (thought I hope you have it mounted). The Amp is a 200-Watt Amp. I have nothing against it, it powers the sub to push adequate wattage to the speaker. But as a personal fan of higher end audio equipment, this is the only thing that bugged me, seeing as for the same size of the amp that is placed in the box, they could have put (for the same price) at least a 500-watt, or even higher, D-Class Amplifier (D Class is Digital for those of you out of the know, A and B classes are the normal ones, with large heat sinks, as you can see in the product picture, the "grill" on the right side) Installation was quite possibly the easiest I have ever done. For me it was a bit easier, due to still have direct leads to my battery for power. But all you have to do for this beast, is plug in power, remote, and audio (from your stereo), and your ready to go. The customization is fairly well done, as the included built-on amp has pretty much all the mainstream toggles and settings that an average person would want to fool with. I had this in a small commuter Honda Civic Hatchback. At first I placed in the rear, as to use the rear hatch to help the sound accumulate around the roof, to land right in my lap, and perfect listening area. Unfortunately it didn't throw the sound like I anticipated. So I placed the sub directly against the side/floor of the vehicle, allowing the reverberations to work its way through the interior (seats, and floor) and give me a rocking. As per sound quality, it can handle it all with fairly precise hits. Rap Music with its heavy rolls, and Deep hits are pushed out well, creating a vibration sense when needed. Rock Music with its hard hits, and a quick jabs from some heavy metal testing, worked beyond belief. And a few bits of Electronic Music and Jazz, along with some classic rock allowed this subwoofer to truly impress me. Over All, I highly recommend this sub woofer for anyone that is either looking for a small package to fit, and still get more form their music. Or from someone who hasn't had a sub woofer in their car, and doesn't want the hassle of buying multiple parts, running wires all over, blowing fuses like crazy, and with this box being so small, Its easier to conceal, so you don't run into many issues with those pesky car thieves. I Give it 4 out of 5, due to the amp could be better. But for its price, and the quality you get out of it, there is none better.

I owned one of these for a year before it quit.Thinking it was a fluke, I bought a new one-it worked for two days.I took the new one to Best Buy for an exchange, theirs worked for 5 minutes(lights come on,no sound, then smoke, then no lights).Infinity makes some quality audio ,but this is not an example. They have regular stereos,speakers,amps,etc.. that auto makers install in the factory as stock and premium in new cars.Unfortunately, this was/is old technology that doesn't stand up-I owned 3,all 3 crapped out in a short time.BTW,if you buy any electronic device,by it from an authorized dealer and get the warranty or you'll be losing money just like I did.Cheaper online isn't always the best deal if it breaks, you have to pay return shipping and wait for a resolution or,at the least, shipping of a replacement.Don't be afraid of the big box stores with customer service, instant replacement/refund,and real live people to talk to.Good luck....
