I own several components from the Infinity Classia Speaker line and they are truly; AMAZING!!! I have a Harman Kardon AVR354 receiver, 2 ea AudioSource AMP300, & 1 ea AudioSource AMP100 to drive my components. My L/R Fronts are Classia C336ch towers (WOW!) fed by an AMP300, Center channel is a Classia CC225ch fed by an AMP100 (bridged), L/R surrounds are Classia C205ch fed by an AMP300, & L/R surround back is a SINGLE Classia C255es-ch (a very cool 2 channel speaker) fed by the AVR354. The only speaker NOT a Classia is my Infinity TSS-SUB4000 which I absolutely love. My whole system sounds like a real movie theater. I have tried many different speakers, etc and I am SOOOO happy with the Classia line. If you can get your hands on them, you won't be disappointed. Just my 2 cents. Cheers!

I paired these speakers with a Pioneer VSX 9130 receiver, a THX select 2 certified receiver. I also have the classia subwoofer and center speaker, but the surrounds are free standing small polk speakers. These speakers replaced a beloved set of old JBL speakers that sounded incredible for the price paid. I confess a BIG reason for buying the classia series was for the decor. The slick styling and reddish cherry veneer match my family room decor extremely well. My wife even likes how these speakers look, and as any married guy knows, "happy wife = happy life" LOL. The speaker styling goes very well with this generation of LED TV's (Sony NX810 for me)Now for the sound... well I got these on Thanksgiving sale from Amazon, so I was expecting a big bang for the buck, but not overly unrealistic on absolute sound quality compared to going with higher end brands at a Hi-def audio store. I was initally dissapointed. I felt like my old JBL's had more prescence and expanse (though they were running through an older SONY receiver) without emphasizing the midrange like these speakers do. I tested them out with various types of music from CD (analog connection) with the receiver on passthrough (no signal processing) and I got a distinct feeling of the midrange coming out strongly, not as much lower frequency. So while classical music sounds superlative, rock not so much. So a subwoofer is a very helpful compliment to these speakers, whereas with my old JBL's I didn't really need them to get the same bigness of sound. There was no cutout, and the speakers handled any volume setting. Next up was LOTR DVD with the receiver using the Dolby processing. With the classia subwoofer, which I'm still tweaking, I was pleasantly surprised how much better it sounded compared to my inital musical handling impressions. To be fair to the classia line, I need to spend a lot more time with them to tweak the positioning, subwoofer settings, and receiver settings for various genre. So I plan to come back with further updates, maybe separate reviews for each speaker type. Overall, this is a pretty tight and clear sounding speaker set that I expect to get better with age. |
