The Cascade Model Fifteen subwoofer is unlike any other, with a sleek horizontal enclosure highlighted by a front panel that curves and tapers around the sides, reflecting the styling of the entire Cascade line. Its driver complement is equally unique, utilizing four advanced-technology 6-inch by 6-inch (160mm x 160mm) square-cone drivers that combine the advantage of lighter mass with a large radiating area, to deliver tight, articulate and extended bass response. The Model Fifteen includes a built-in 800-watt amplifier, and is supplied with Infinity`s exclusive Room Adaptive Bass Optimization System, which allows the subwoofer to overcome the low-frequency room resonances that can detract from the sonic accuracy of a home entertainment loudspeaker system. In addition, the Model Fifteen features a full complement of controls and inputs, including a line-level output that provides a connection to an additional Model Fifteen in systems where multiple subwoofers are desired, that enable it to perfectly blend with any system and room.

Overall I like this sub and would recommend it.

Pros: Fits behind my recliner, can create some serious sound pressure, enjoys hitting notes higher than what most consider to be subwoofer duty(90hz-130hz), nice fit and finish (no super-bright LED on the front. Yay!), heavy and well built, comes with Rabos system.

Cons: Does not go low enough. This is really the only con; but it's a significant one. This sub drops off significantly once you get below 31 hertz. In my opinion, that's just not low enough for home theater use. Maybe they should have used 4 eight inch drivers instead of 4 six inch drivers. I personally would of been fine with the additional size in exchange for additional low range.

Other thoughts: I'm using this in conjunction with a Klipsch Synergy Sub-12 I bought a couple years ago. The sub-12 has a much deeper range and more boom. However, regardless of what hz input you send it, its output sounds roughly the same...deep and loud. You can't tell the difference between the different notes on it as easily as you can with the cascade. Anyhow, the two together work pretty well for me. I would much rather have a single much more expensive sub that can handle the range, the low low notes, and the volume/pressure; but I can't afford one.

Conclusion: For 300 this is a fantastic sub. For 500, it's a decent sub. Retail price is ridiculous. This sub is better suited to music than to home theater. You can probably find a better sub; but maybe not a better one that fits between your furniture and a wall for the current price.

This is an outstanding Subwoofer. I had a little bit of a hard time setting it up initially because I'm use to plug and play speakers. It sounds great!
