2.0 out of 5 stars what a nightmare
first I got the wrong speakers, then the ones they replaced them with didnt work,a week after i got those replacements they stopped working, after looking at them i realized the solder broke. So I fixed that and they still work well and sound nice but I will not buy from coolncheap again.

I own high end home equipment and recently purchased these to put in a boat, and yes I know that they're not intended for marine use, but they just sounded too good to not buy. I'll have no problem keeping them protected anyway as they're mounted in boxes. These speakers are everything I'd hoped they'd be. I have an older MasterCraft ski boat that doesn't have a lot of room for stereo components like the newer models have; so I put a premium on high efficiency, in addition to great sound, hoping that I could get by without a seperate amp. I also purchased a Pioneer DEH-P4100UB head unit (equally happy with) which has only a true 14 watt RMS output; so the 96 Db sensitivity rating of the speakers was great. The combo is plenty loud and I'm very impressed with the sound from the speakers. They are very dynamic with crisp highs and respectable lows even though I only have them in the small wedge shaped typical 6" x 9" boxes.

Yes I wish I had a really good 50 - 100 watt amp to push them like they're capable and maybe I can find a crack to stick one in somtime, but for now I'm very pleased with my simple system. Expectations are the key here. I didn't expect to replicate my home system.

Awesome speakers for the money. Best $100 speakers if you ask me. I installed these in the rear deck of my '97 Civic sedan, replacing the old factory speakers. Driving it with a new JVC head unit, no amps. They can be a bit bright sounding. The -3dB setting on the crossover is an option. Couldn't be more pleased!

Bought these to replace blown front speaker in 2004 Dodge Ram. They probably will sound better with a power amp but still sound fantastic just hooked up to the stock stereo.Strong bass, clear and powerful mids and highs.Good bang for the buck.

Me? I don't write reviews. However, I felt the need to. Why? Because you cannot go wrong with these Kappa's! I have them installed in my E28 1983 BMW 533i powered through my Pioneer deck which only distributes 22 watts rms to each channel and these Kappa's sound like I have an 8 inch subwoofer. Since I wanted more power I just ordered an MQ Quart 4 ch 200 watt amp. Since these speakers run on 2 ohms this will pump out 100 watts on any 2 ohm speaker. But yeah these are all you need in the rear.

These speakers are amazing. They put out boat loads of clear beautiful sound. My only complaint is that I installed them thinking i would run them off of power from my Pioneer CD deck like the previous 6x9s i had and was met with a terrible buzzing noise. After talking to the audio tech at the local best buy i was informed that although the Kappas are one of the best speakers on the market they also require a lot of power. I bought a 500watt alpine 4 channel amp and hooked all the speakers to it (i also have the kappa component kit for the front). It sounds amazing but ended up costing me about $200 more than i thought it would because of the amp.

I picked these up brand new off eBay for $80 and at that price they are impossible to beat. I was replacing an aging Pioneer Premier pair of 6x9"s in the rear deck of my 1997 Subaru Impreza coupe (it's so tiny that these provide all the bass I need). I'm running them through an Alpine head and the Alpine KTP-445 Head Unit Power Pack -Amplifier putting out exactly 67 watts rms per channel. I coupled them with the Polk Audio DB651s 6.5" coaxials up front (which have a rating of 60 watts rms so I had to adjust the fader slightly to keep the infinitys from over powering the amazing highs the Polks produce). I highly reccomend this set-up, the Power Pack is a wonderful little thing for people with small cars (it is plug-n-play compatible with all Alpine head units built after 2005). All in all I couldn't be more satisfied with the quality of these speakers, they shake my car when it needs the beat and deliver smooth performances when I'm just grooving to Mingus. I think the highest praise I can give these speakers after living with them for a couple of months is simply: "I would have paid full price".

5.0 out of 5 stars Great speakers on the cheap!, March 4, 2011

These are great speakers. On some songs there are too much highs but you can always turn the gain down on the tweeters and it works perfectly. Initially, I had one speaker wired reverse so that was cancelling out the bass with the second speaker. But as soon as I figured that out and reversed the polarity, the bass started sounding great. It hits sharp and hard without any booming. I get crystal clear sound out of these speakers and the best thing is you can crank it (with a good head unit) and it won't sound distorted or too loud. Music gets to have a lot more presence with these speakers. They are cheap.... get it!

5.0 out of 5 stars great crystal sound for a great price., July 10, 2010

Replaced stock speakers in door of a ford 500 style audiofile system to get a fuller sound and the price was right. It sounds clear at low and mid sound levels which is what I use the most. The mid- and high range for both classic, jazz, and rock is great and it has good low ends with accurate sounds with no booming noise. The car system has 2 sub-woofer standard but stock and it sounds great. would recommend these to anyone upgrading standard speakers.

Cool n Cheap shipped these speakers in a timely manner and exceeded my expectations. I just installed these in my boat, connected them to my amp and they sound incredible! These speakers are a must have for anyone that loves high quality audio and high quality sound. They are easy to install and the crossover really separates the highs and the bass. I am hoping more become available so I can replace my 6 x 9s in my Acura. Thanks Cool n Cheap!
