We test it so you can crank it
The last thing you want to worry about is the quality of your speakers. We understand. All new Infinity products have to go through nearly 500 hours of environmental testing. We put them under temperatures fluctuating between -35 degrees C and +90 degrees C with up to 90 percent air humidity for more than 200 hours. We expose the speakers to UV light for more than 150 hours to simulate a mounting location on a rear deck. We even shake things up, as all of our new car audio products have to pass extensive vibration testing before we release them for production. Edge-driven, textile-dome tweeter
The 1031T is a one-inch (25-millimeter) textile-dome tweeter with a large voice coil--much like a voice coil found in high-end home-audio speakers. The benefit of Infinity's textile-dome tweeter is its light weight and remarkable strength, while its large voice coil increases power handling and reduces distortion at high output levels. The 1031T tweeter also features an in-line crossover network that helps create more seamless integration with a woofer or midbass. The result? Detail, clarity and imaging added to any sound system for true, high-end, audiophile-quality performance.

Powerful Performance

True four-ohm topology
Low-impedance speaker voice coils extract more power from your amp for more powerful performance than high-impedance coils do. The typical four-ohm voice coil has its ohms measured before entering the "real world"--but in real-world use, heat buildup increases impedance, and the voice coil actually operates closer to five ohms. Infinity measures a speaker's impedance in real-world use, so the Infinity Reference 1031T speakers are a true four-ohm component. In other words, they use a lower-impedance voice coil than a typical four-ohm speaker. Using its lower-impedance voice coils, Infinity has designed the 1031T to extract the most power possible from all amplifiers engineered to drive loads of four ohms or less, and the 1031T is compatible with both aftermarket head units and factory-installed systems. Since many factory-installed systems incorporate two-ohm speakers and include amplifiers designed to drive two-ohm loads, replacing those reduced-impedance speakers with a typical "four-ohm" model is hardly an upgrade, as the power output from the amplifier will be reduced. For the most powerful performance, the 1031Ts make the best use of any amplifier by providing an optimum two-ohm load.

Easy Install

Doing it yourself? Infinity makes installing the Reference 1031T tweeter a breeze. At first glance, installing a component tweeter might seem a little daunting. Don't worry. You are installing an Infinity component system, and Infinity has made it easy.

I-Mount tweeter-mounting system
If you are upgrading the sound in your vehicle with the 1031T, Infinity's proprietary I-Mount (patent no. 5,859,917) tweeter system makes it easy to flush-mount or surface-mount the tweeter. But making it easy to mount isn't enough. A tweeter has to sound good as well. When doing a flush mount, you can use our innovative flush-mount cup to angle the tweeters and lock them into the best angle for optimum response and imaging.

Starfish tweeter-mounting system
What about when you want to replace the factory-component system that comes in many of today's vehicles while keeping that "factory" look? Infinity engineering has made that easy, too. The 1031T uses Infinity's patented Starfish tweeter-mounting system. It makes mounting the tweeter in any number of ways behind factory grilles and panels simple, and it doesn't require any special modifications.

Put these in my '04 Accord at the stock tweeter location at the front corners below the windshield. Lots of mounting options are included in the package to mount these just about anywhere. These replaced a set of MB Quart reference tweets (no longer available) that totally lost their punch. I bypassed the MB Quart crossover and installed the included crossover since these have similar cutoff frequency at about 2.5kHZ which is typical of better quality tweeters. Driving them with a PPI4100 amp that puts out 100 Watts RMS per channel and have pushed them hard (but not very long - ouch!) with no distortion or loss of quality. Not quite as bright sounding as the Alpine tweeters - but Alpines are characteristically bright in general. Great Buy!

Just got these and adapted them to fit in my 2000 grand cherokee. Threw them on and it was like a night and day difference. If you do buy these, YOU MUST BUY AN AMP! They will not just plug into a stock system and sound good without power and you risk blowing them. I picked these over the kappas due to the 3ohm rating to match better to my 2-way crossovers for my system. Warning! The second picture shown of a crossover network for 2-way is **NOT INCLUDED** in the kit, only a single in line crossover for the each tweeter is supplied. Best part about these are all of the different mounts/mounting brackets included. You can REALLY get a good angle on the tweeter once planted with one of the mounts.

I have been tying to find speakers to replace the blown tweeters in my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee without much luck other than getting new Mopar speakers. From all the reviews I have read the new Mopar speakers will still blow after a while. I tried the 3.5 inch Infinity speakers, but they are too large. So I got these and they are amazing; the high frequency response is great and they still retain a good midrange. The only downside is that they are too small. So I had to fabricate an adapter out of plywood to fit the dimensions of the old speakers. Other than that I don't think you can get better quality for the money.
