Product Description

Amazon.com

Exchange those factory speakers for some best-in-class performance. Infinity's 6-1/2-inch Reference coaxial model boasts proprietary Infinity features like patent-pending Plus One cones, true 4-ohm topology, UniPivot edge-driven tweeters and the industry-leading Intermount III and I-Mount mounting systems, and the Starfish tweeter-mounting adapter.

An ideal upgrade for your factory speakers.

Features a tweeter level adjustment located on the front of the speaker.

Shallow mounting depth of 1-15/16 inches.

6032si Features

Plus One woofer cones
This patent pending technology deliver a cone with more surface area than competing models of the same size. The result is increased bass output and higher efficiency.

True Four Ohms
All Reference speakers feature two ohm voice coils. Original factory-installed speaker wiring in many cars is 18-22 gauge. This wire, and heating in the voice coil when power is applied, increase the impedance "seen" by the amplifier or head unit. The impedance of Reference Speakers has been adjusted to compensate for this increase and can be safely driven by any head unit.

Edge-driven textile dome tweeters
These are not commonly used w-domes, but fully-edge-driven domes like those found in better home audio speakers. The benefit is increased power handling and reduced distortion at high output levels. This technology also allows for better integration with the mid/woofer.

Tweeter level adjustment
The 6032si also features a tweeter level adjustment located on the front of the speaker and can be set at the reference level of 0dB. If the speakers are located low in the doors or if you are looking for a brighter sound, set the tweeter at +3dB.

Mid bass through highs are very good.
Gregory D Zelna
I modified the OEM speaker rings to accomodate these, because even with the shallow mount, I needed the standoff to clear the window.
Christopher J Morin
Speakers sound great and were very easy to install.

Bought a pair of shallow mount speaket set, about six months ago. One speaker failed, it sounds broken, looks and appears fine, I never exceeded the max wattage or abused them. Stock radio drives four speakers, 18 watts RMS, way under the listed capacity. I phoned the manufacturer, line picked up promptly, no waiting. Infinity will replace not one but two speakers (pair)at no cost, only had to provide proof of purchase receipt, but of course I lost the receipt....Wait, Amazon keeps one on-line in "your account" link, KUDOS AMAZON! and pay for shipping back the defective pair. WOW! No third degree questioning from rep. There was even a follow-up a phone call from rep to ensure satisfaction. IF ANY MANUFACTURER stands behind their products just like Infinity did, they will get many life time customers. For their product support and customer satisfaction I give them 5 stars. WELL DONE INFINITY!

I picked these up from Amazon.com on a suggestion that they were an easy fit into my 96 Subaru Legacy Outback, and boy was that an understatement! The included adapter ring looks to fit just about any car out there, and I was able to use the stock bracket without any modifications! A worthwhile investment if you need a 6.5" speaker, and have very little room to install an upgraded speaker! I am pleasantly surprised by the audio quality for such a shallow speaker, so all in all, a worthwhile investment!

I installed these speakers by myself in the front doors of my 2007 Subaru Forester. I have a lot of experience installing car stereos and speakers; this pair were a replacement for some entry-level 6.5 inch Pioneer speakers I had installed 3 years ago. After installing one of the speakers, I tested it and compared it to the Pioneer in the opposite door by adjusting the balance back and forth. The mids and highs from this speaker are remarkable given that they are only about $50. To get proper bass I had to spend some time tweaking the settings on the head unit, as I will describe below. Installation was relatively easy. Infinity supplies an adaptor ring, which helped a lot. Make sure you have an assortment of machine screws, as the ones supplied will not be enough to do the job.

Some people have complained that these speakers do not handle bass well. 6.5 inch coaxial speakers that do a great job of reproducing deep bass frequencies at high volume do not exist in this world. If you want pounding bass, you will need to buy a subwoofer. It's that simple. I managed to coax ample bass from these speakers by spending 1 hour adjusting the levels in my Pioneer head unit. First, I set the high pass filter to 63Hz (since these speakers cannot handle frequencies below 60 anyways). I adjusted the equalizer to +2 (low), +2 (mid) and +5 (high). I also also adjusted various sound curves because certain high-bass frequencies (between 100 and 150Hz) were being dropped. I also experimented with the bass boost settings and loudness settings. Yes, this took at least one hour but it was worth it. I can now hear all the notes in my music, and deep bass is no longer distorted. I should also mention that you need to install these correctly.

I just finished installing 4 of these speakers in a 2003 Pontiac Vibe. Here are my observations:

* On the floor, side by side, the speaker has a much better range than the stock. The mid-range seems a bit weak and the highs are bright but border on tinny.
* Installed in door, compared to the stock speakers there was an improvement overall and better bass - nothing spectacular but louder and better defined. I did all comparisons with left side stock, right side new, ultimately all speakers replaced.
* I noticed an excessive amount of flashing in the doors speaker grille holes - molded into the door panels. I gently reamed these out with a star screwdriver (what a tedious task), and the mid and highs improved noticeably. Probably a general good idea to look at the grilles regardless of what car you install and make sure they aren't clogged/excessive flashing.
* Next, I installed 2 6"x18" mastic flashing sheets (hardware store and similar to Dynamat but WAY less $$$) to the inside of exterior door panels and 6"x12" to inside of interior panels. This made a significant improvement in the bass response, with more clarity and deeper resonation.
* Of course, I could have improved the stock speakers with grille reaming and mastic but it was clear even on floor that these are better speakers. In combination, they met the objective - full range (NOT subwoofer level bass), loud enough with Blaupunkt 25W RMS 4 channel head unit driving speakers. On the extreme upper end, the distortion became apparent but I believe that was more to do with head unit than speakers - I don't expect listening at that level anyway.

Short sweet and to the point. These babies are excellent for the price, around 65 on Amazon way lower than Crutchfield. I hooked them up to a Sony Deck with 52 watts per channel and they perform beautifully. The highs are crisp and the lows are clear. Of course they don't handle bass too well but that's why one needs a sub. It's been my personal experience that if I, need a set of speakers for any application I will just go with Infinity. I have never been disappointed and always very pleased.

Thanks
