Designed to perfectly complement the latest flat panel and plasma televisions, the TSS-CENTER4000 speaker can be placed above or below a television â using the included base, or mounted on a wall using the included bracket. The TSS-CENTER4000 can even be recessed into the wall using the optional FMK-4000 flush mount kit. They are individually packaged so expanding to 6- or 7-channel home theater is easy. The TSS-Center4000 features an extruded- and brushed-aluminum enclosure and 5-way binding posts for easy connection.

I have been upgrading my Infinity 450 5.1 speaker system by adding a pair of Infinity Primus (replacing older Boes bookshelf speakers), and finally, replacing the 2-way center channel speaker that came with the 450 system with the Infinity TSS 4000 3-way center channel speaker.

After hooking it up I immediately noticed a great improvement to the depth of the music I played. In my small space you can really feel the pump of the music from the TSS 4000 center channel speaker - feeling as if it has real power to match it's (heavy) weight.

As it turns out the TSS 4000 is indeed powerful; with the old 450 center I had to keep the level all the way up for it to really do it's job and match the rest of the speaker system, but with the TSS 4000 center I found I had to turn down the level to properly compliment the rest of the system, allowing the other speakers sound to blend with the center channel sound rather than compete or be overwhelmed by it.

After making that adjustment though the improvement to the quality of sound became much more evident. I find that the music sounds just as good at lower volumes as it does at higher volumes, and where before I noticed some slight window and wall rattling when playing music loud, with the TSS 4000 there is no such rattling indicating a definite overall improvement to the sound system just from the addition of the TSS 4000 center speaker.

Getting the TSS 4000 3-way center speaker as an upgrade to the standard 2-way makes perfect sense once you realize how much the center channel contributes the overall sound of a 5.1 system - and how the better the quality of sound coming from the more capable TSS 4000 can improve the overall sound of any standard 5.1 package system.

I definitely recommend anyone customizing their (package) 5.1 sound system in general, and I really recommend starting with the Infinity 450 (or other Infinity package systems) as a superior choice. After that, cutomizing an already great system with improved manufacturer compatible speaker elements - such as the Infinity TSS 4000 Center Channel just makes better sense.

Several years ago I purchased the Infinity 450 surround sound system. I have since upgraded to the Infinity TSS-SAT4000 surround speakers, and I finally replaced the center channel speaker with the TSS-Center4000. I have also incorporated my old Infinity Qa speakers (purchased in 1978) into the system, so now I have a 7.1 surround system that works great! I'm running these speakers through an Onkyo TX-SR606 receiver. The sound quality is exceptional when playing blue-ray DVDs. The platinum color perfectly matches my 50" Panasonic plasma TV.
