Inflatable 'Rody Horse' Children's Ride-On Rocking Horse: Color is Red

I bought the Rody from Gymnic with the Rocking base. When it is on its base it is a rocking pony, when it is off its base it is a bouncing pony. My 20 mnths old twins love the rocking version right now. I also bought a big hopping ball called Hop66 from Gymnic for my 10 yo and she bounces on it everyday. These toys are great, durable, even used in Physical Therapy. Rody and Hopp 66 are made in Italy. By the way I wish Amazon could include the country of origin in the description of products. This information is on the product packages and on-line consumers should have access to it just like in store consumers would.

My 1 year old and 2 year old love this toy my only concerns were that my 2 year old at 34 inches looks like he is already the tallest he could be to be comfortable on it, it will be too low to the ground soon to bounce well. And it's a little difficult to get the plug in after you inflate it without losing too much air. One plus to it being small is that my kids haven't gotten hurt so far when they fall off!

Lots of fun, but in our experience Rody tends to tip too much. We've had much better luck with George the Bouncing Horse. Purchased over a year ago for our now 2.5yo, it's still played with regularly (and our almost 6yo thinks it's pretty fun too!). George's feet are much wider and he's far more stable.

I was really excited to get this toy for my 20 month old daugher for Christmas. She is large for her age, 32" and ~34#, and is very well coordinated. I bought her older sister a hop ball but my younger daughter's legs were just too short for a traditional hop ball. I thought Rody was my answer but I was wrong. Although the brief instructions reccommend that you inflate to varying degrees for different capabilities, it doesn't matter how much or little air is in this cute little horse, she ALWAYS falls off in a matter of minutes. She has fallen sideways because she's squirming and trying to move about the room, she falls over backwards because she tried to bounce too high, luckily she has not fallen off forwards like another reviewer mentioned. Rody is just adorable and probably fine for kids who just want to sit and bounce a little, however if you have an active little one who wants to leave the ground when bouncing and travel quickly around the house, this is not that toy.

The great thing about this product is it can expand to fit your child. I didn't blow it up all the way for my younger daughter who is 15 months and it is blown up to the recommended maximum for my three-year-old.

The downside is you have to use an air compressor to blow it up to a good size. If you use a foot pump it doesn't work well.

They really enjoy bouncing up and down and also bouncing them so that they go around the room on them.

I think it teaches them balance and coordination. I know that it is used for special needs children to teach them how to balance.

I think it's a good product. I tend to put them away for a while and when I bring them out they are like a new toy and the kids get all excited again.

My daughter is 12 months, and although this toy needs lots of supervision, it's *hilarious* to watch her bounce on the thing. They are cuter in person than in this pic. I think it's a well made toy with a lot of potential.

My twin boys (age 2 1/2) love these guys, at first we used them as weapons to knock the other one over. But now they have Rody races throughout the house with them. My two older kids also ride on them, very durable. Wouldn't recommend them for kids under two..they don't get the concept yet.

Rody has held up well in our house. No holes after 7 years and despite some ear chewing. My nephew can catch plenty of air off of Rody. I am a big daddy and he has not popped when I sat on him. I do recommend that anyone buying Rody have strong front teeth as they are the only way I have been able to reliably remove the unconventional solid plastic air hole stopper.

A friend of mine purchased the Rody for her twins after they loved it so much at their local playgym. I decided to get one for my son as well even though he was an infant at the time. He's about a year old now and still too young for it, but we have put him on it several times and bounced him on it (while holding him) and he seems to enjoy the bouncing and biting the Rody's ears. He now bounces on his own (while we still hold him) when we place him on top.

This toy is very durable. I read on the manufacturer's website that it can hold up to 200kg (400lbs) and I weigh in the low 100's so I tested it out before we gave it to my son. It withstood me bouncing on it - and it's rather fun! Good to know since kids can get pretty rowdy sometimes! It's easy to clean - just wipe down.

We've had kids over ranging up to 6 years old and they LOVE this toy. One of our friend's kids refused to get off of it when it was time to go home! I know the age level for this toy says 3 years, but our other friend's son is 2 and had a great time bouncing on it. I think once your kid is able to touch the ground with his/her feet, they're probably old enough.

One con is that there's a strong rubber smell when you first purchase the toy. The smell is still there after several months, but not as prominent as before.

In my opinion, the price is a little steep, but you're paying for quality here.

My daughter is 2 1/2 and I feel that she is a bit too big for the Rody. It topples over pretty easy and has a funky plastic odor. Although, I am not thrilled with the Rody, my daughter does like it. That is the only reason why i gave it three stars instead of one.
