From Booklist
On the lookout for new, more exciting ways to tempt death? Check out Kuhne on what was once a primitive form of transportation but is now, admittedly, primarily another excuse for yuppies to bloat their charge accounts. He offers what is truly a single source for kayakers mainly aimed at novices. However, the lists of organizations, outfitters, and river-management agencies, as well as the thoughtful chapter "Preserving Our Rivers," give the book a little broader appeal. A nice glossary, plenty of competent illustrations, the expected checklists, and 1-2-3 instructions all appear. If you actually put Kuhne's advice into action, may you live to tell about it.
