thanks god the cavalera brothers are back together again ,making extreme heavy music .............
this cd has some great riffs, and with max vocals you cant ask for more.....

Sepultura was heavy back in the day when both Max & Igor Cavalera were in the group....but Max left after some tension in the band became apparent & Soulfly was born & eventually became even heavier than Sepultura. However, here we are many years later & the Cavalera brothers recently reunited & man it makes you wonder what took them so long to get back together again! Obviously Max & Igor had to work out their problems with each other & their past with Sepultura, but man while you are listening to this CD you can't help but wonder if making this CD was truly therapy for the both of them! This CD is NON-STOP brutality from start to finish & definitely angrier than anything I've heard from Max Cavalera & that's saying a lot because Max is always pissed about something! Buy this CD for some straight forward/heavy/no nonsense metal! Thank God the Cavalera boys are back!

Roadrunner Records has added more metal to their catalog and has brought forth the debut of a reunion of the Cavalera brothers, Max and Igor. Over a decade has passed since the two have shared a stage or made music together. This project is not only special because of the musical connections these Brazilian brothers share, but also because the wait for their reunion is over. Whether or not this project becomes permanent is unknown, for Max has his main band Soulfly and Igor has his electronic music project Mixhell.

The two co-founded Sepultura over twenty years ago and have now founded another thrash metal band, Cavalera Conspiracy. Marc Rizzo (Soulfly) and Joe Duplantier (Gojira) fill out the band on guitar and bass, respectively. Without even hearing a single note from these guys, you'd expect something heavy and possibly similar to Sepultura or Soulfly - and you'd be right on all accounts. The band's debut, Inflikted, features an opening song with the same title that sounds like it came off Sepultura's Beneath the Remains. This song could start a riot and could very well be an opening song on tour because of the madness it can stir. On the other hand, the very next song, "Sanctuary," sounds like it came off Soulfly's Prophecy.

With comparisons to the aforementioned bands obvious, Inflikted is also a unique assault of its own. The sound is more than just cohesion of the members' past musical endeavors. Expect several different shades of red on this paint palette. Igor's drums are thunderous and intense, and easily complement the squealing guitars and Max's deep, scratchy vocals. Songs like "Ultra-Violent" and "Must Kill" are trains with a destinations of destruction, bearing chugging guitars and restless screams as their passengers. "Ultra-Violent" also features Rex Brown of Down on bass. While Rex doesn't provide unmistakable bass lines like Les Claypool might, for example, he certainly remains noteworthy.

Well, perfect to me because Max is my god :) Good riffs by Marc Rizzo, lots of energy, classic Max in there!!!

The Cavalera brothers are together again, and when these guys meet each other to make music the music is heavy. Absolutely heavy and cool heavy metal, like i haven't heard in a long time. Inflikted don't bring nothing new to the heavy metal world, but it's a mix of good metal songs together. Well done, Cavalera brothers!

Just as heavy as I expected, and it sticks to what metal should be. It's what I was looking for when I am in the mood for... metal. Lots of purported metal these days is just soft rocks with heavy guitars, it's good to see some real music again.

max and igor are back and every track on here rips your face off! marc rizzo is a better guitar player than andreas and because of having cavalera conspiracy and soulfly i can go without the original sepulura! it's better this way!

This album is really a bad one. Forget about the good moments Sepultura had or even some good Soulfly albums. THis album has many unlistenable tracks. There is not a any sense of melody and they sound extremely monotonous. Only for very fanatic friends

This is a CD i like to listen to when I wake up in the morning. Its high energy wakes me up an makes me want to mosh in my shower. All the songs on the album sound good and a couple of the tracks are awesome. If you like metal there is no reason you wouldn't like this CD. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because some of the songs sound the same. If its not one of the great songs like tracks 3,4, 7,9 then you can really lose track of where you are on the CD. I look forward to seeing more from this group.

I was happy to hear the reunion of singer/rhythm guitarist Max and drummer Iggor Cavalera following their dispute during the Sepultura-era. Now, they are back in the form of "Cavalera Conspiracy" consisting of them, Gojira bassist Joe Duplantier, and Soulfly guitarist Marc Rizzo. That being said, "Inflikted" does not disappoint, I enjoyed all eleven tracks with the brutal...and then soothing "Bloodbrawl" being my personal favorite. Seguing into a sorrowful latin-tinged tune, any Soulfly listener would almost definitely compare this to the song "Frontlines." "Hex" is insane, and the MTV2 heavily-played "Sanctuary" is another classic. CC has not abandoned their groove metal roots from the days of Soulfly and Sepultura with "Terrorize" and the beginning of "Dark Ark" (with a spoken word by Ritchie Cavalera) standing out amongst Iggor's fast, rhythmic drums. Oh, and don't forget "Bloodbrawl." I expect great things and cannot wait for their second album...whenever that is.
