Very much like the "In the Mind of Jamie Cullum", December 29, 2007
This review is from: Influences (Audio CD)
Like my review of the "In the mind of Jamie Cullum" CD, I will start with saying this is NOT a Jamie Cullum CD, it is a collection of his influences as an artist along with one bonus Jamie Cullum song.
Just like in his "in the mind" CD, this CD does not fail to have high quality jazz tracks that help you understand where certain singing and piano elements of Jamie's music come from.
On the CD there is one track by Jamie himself, a remake of Elton John's "your song" that is remarkably well done, and almost worth the price of admission, but a great Jamie Cullum track is not what you should take out of this CD.
The aim of this CD was to show what influenced young Jamie Cullum to become the Jamie Cullum of today, and the CD succeeds greatly in that respect.

Great Collection of Assorted Music, October 6, 2007
This review is from: Influences (Audio CD)
Am a great Jamie Cullum fan, so this collection of his influences/likes is pretty cool to add to my collection. I like that he says it's like a CD he would put together for someone.I like it alot, and I'm pretty finicky about my music.

not bad, not bad at all, November 17, 2009
This review is from: Influences (Audio CD)
obviously being a big time fan of jamies I cant really say I was surprised by his choices for this album. They are as eclectic as his own style. I found only one song to be intolerable (sorry jamie) one song to be wonderful (and thats not just jamies) and the rest to be perfectly predictable and satisfying in every way. I love to know whats going on in the head of my favorite artists so this was an insightful look into Jamies head and I am glad I bought the cd.
