For residential use as a national directory, this software may be helpful, but I would never, ever recommend it to a small business. It's not network compatible and the ability to export or print only a limited number of names makes it useless. The company's rate of 8 cents per additional name is outrageous.

Select Phone 2000 was grossly misrepresented by InfoUSA. Using the internal "Workbook" to store data for the purpose of printing labels doesn't provide the ability to print more than 3000 records, contrary to what InfoUSA stated. Their surcharge for more records is outrageous.

You are limited to printing 5000 records and then they charge you an additional 8 cents per record. You also can not eliminate duplicate records. So printing a lable for a household with three residents costs you 24 cents. When I called the company to get additional records, I was quoted widely varying prices for the additional records. It apeared that they were charging what ever they could get.

This product is a Great product when it is used properly. Users who expect to do mass mailings with an under $99 product are not being realistic about the product. I use this product EXTENSIVELY for finding detailed information about potential target clients, as a Super effective reverse directory and when you begin to understand the SIC coding it is especially effective. You MUST do specific refined seraches. It will not help you do MASS mailings and attempting to use it for this purpose is frustrating, since the product was not intended for that. Also it is purposefully impared from operating on a network, since the company offers a network enabled version for a more realistic price. I feel they are very reasonable in this regard. Tech support and attempting to get information from InfoUSA is a different story. Complete chaos and inconsistancy in their support people would be giving them a kind rating. They DO NOT even admit this product exists in most cases, since they want you to buy the much more expensive commercial version. This is what your other reviewers really require, not this product. I have used this product for 3 years and don't know how my business could function without it. I leave the CD in my drive because I use it EVERYDAY !

I think the product is excellent for the price I originally paid. I found a couple of outdated numbers, normally that's not a bad average but I only look up a few numbers a month. You can't export enough numbers either but then of course I'm not using it for mailing lists. It outdates itself in a year, but at that price that's not so bad, you can afford to renew. But at the price they try to sell it for directly is not very reasonable, unless you are using it to extract high volume mailing lists. All in all it's a nice product.
