What can I say? I purchased this Screen Play SP4805 based on reviews and so far they have held true. The projector sets up in minutes and the picture is huge with a crisp high-contrast image. No TV in this price range will be likey to offer a better looking image.

Most people can skip its bright lamp setting and use it only on the power save mode. The loss of brightness won't be missed in a dimmly lit room. This will keep the fan noise down and add many hours to the lamp life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best in its price range, July 22, 2007
This review is from: Infocus Screen Play SP4805 Home Projector (Office Product)
I researched projectors for about a year before I bought the 4805. I'm glad I did, since I have yet to be disappointed. This is probably the best model from 2005 that originally retailed for $1400, making it a great buy for a home theater enthusiast on a budget. It has a lower lumen output than most other projectors, but its contrast is outstanding. I'm still just projecting onto a plain white wall and my picture looks great. The HD looks wonderful. A high gain screen would be the icing on the cake. It's quite versatile, offering component, composite, s-video and an M1-DA port (I bought an adapter that lets me hook up an hdmi source to the M1 port). I would suggest bypassing the unit's audio connections, however; I was getting a buzzing sound through the audio whenever I had it passed through the projector. If you have a room where you can control the ambient light well, this projector is for you. I usually just leave it at the low-power setting to prolong lamp life and lessen fan noise; it functions just fine at this setting.
In closing, I've owned this for over a year now, and I don't have any complaints. It may no longer be Infocus' premier budget model, but it is still an outstanding unit, capable of accepting a wide range of inputs. I can't wait to try it with HD-DVD or Blue Ray.

4.0 out of 5 stars Clear Projection, May 13, 2007

A good replacement for large LCD monitors.

However, sound quality is not that good.

Also, the three wires for Audio/Video is sensitive.
