2.0 out of 5 stars disappointed November 4, 2010

I really like this Dr. and that she helps people. Unfortunately most of the dvd time is spent on describing hoarding. She shows one approach to declutter and honestly it was a let down. Hoped that there would be more solutions, unless there is only one way to declutter. It is an expensive dvd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hoarding Resource for Professional Organizers December 20, 2010
I not only use this DVD as resource when dealing with hoarders and their families but found it's an excellent teaching tool for my coaching and teaching of Professional Organizers who want to learn more about compulsive hoarding. Dr. Reinardy is a well-known and well-respected expert specializing in OCD and related conditions; she presents the material in a clear, concise manner. The DVDs are an excellent alternative for those whose learning style may not be well-suited to reading a book. In short, it's a wonderful source of information for hoarders, friends and family of hoarders as well as Professional Organizers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Helped my family November 13, 2010
By Frank D
For years I thought of one of my close relatives as a "pig". I wanted to go into her house and just throw everything away... very frustrating. After watching this video I have a much better understanding of what my Aunt was going through. It also helped me make suggestions for organizing her clutter without jumping down her throat. It's obvious that Dr. Reinardy has a lot of experience dealing with hoarding and I want to thank her for the help.

3.0 out of 5 stars too short and too expensive December 3, 2012
Verified Purchase
The first half of this recording, where she talks about the symptoms and problems faced by hoarders is fairly extensive and very well done. In the second half, where she demonstrates how to go about clearing your home is quite short and left me with a lot of concerns that were not covered. It's $30. price is close to a ripoff.

5.0 out of 5 stars So informative January 1, 2013
The title is exactly right- information about compulsive hoarding. This video really talks about what hoarding is and I found it to be very helpful. Things like decision making and perfectionism were discussed. It gave me great insight into my problems with clutter. The second part is a little short on the how-to-steps, but I guess we would probably need another DVD to cover everything. Some great tips though! I totally fall into some of those trying-to-get-organized (without success) traps! Guilty of churning. Overall, I loved it and showed it to my family to help them understand my problems with hoarding. Cheaper than a therapy session and more helpful than a lot of the advice I have been given!
