2.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality video
The video for "What's On Your Mind" looks like it was a bad transfer, there's what looks like video tape damage near the center of the screen, it's there during most of the video. It almost looks like it was a vhs copy. Also, it looks like the video was deinterlaced, which is something that should never be done to something sold on dvd. The video skips every few seconds...

I've been a huge fan of Information Society for many many years and I must say this DVD is the best thing InSoc has ever done!!! A real treat for any fan, I think the title says it all "It is Useless to Resist Us". How could you resist this amazing release 25 years in the making? You'd have to be from another planet!!!!

This DVD is full of all the old favorites like "What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy)", "Peace and Love, Inc." to lots of newer releases like "I like the Way You Work It", "Baby Just Wants" and one of my favorites "Burning Bridges", as well as some maybe never even heard before. It also features live footage and photos from various performances, some of which are photos I took at the Portland Or. show at the Crystal Ballroom in 2006 and the Seattle Wa. show at El Corazon in 2008.

I highly recommend this DVD release to any fan of Information Society or even a non fan, one listen and I'm sure you'll be hooked and it's sure to bring no disappointment in the rocking your socks off department. James, Kurt, and Paul bring hours of entertainment to your television with live concert performances, the classic videos direct from the original masters, behind the scenes footage and so much more. So what are you waiting for, give in to resisting and get this DVD today, you won't be sorry!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Video, March 14, 2011

I have been a fan of Information Society for many many years. I was delighted to learn that they had released a live DVD. I saw them in concert about 10 years ago and enjoyed the energy they provide. I also love the stories thier lyrics tell me. I have much appreication for how they are able to make such excellent music with mostly all electronic instruments.

This video shows them on top of thier game. If you enjoy any of thier albums...you should seriously get this DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars It IS useless to resist them!, January 4, 2010
This review is from: Information Society: It Is Useless to Resist Us - 25 Years of Information Society (DVD)
This DVD is excellent. It is clear the band is having a lot of fun at the concert. The extras were way worth it, as well. The old videos, finally in DVD format, bring back many memories of the late 80's/early 90's. The older video clips to the newer Synthesizer songs were very interesting as well. For INSOC fans, this DVD is a must. For Electronica fans, this DVD will be greatly enjoyed.

Even though I've been a huge fan for 25 years, the stuff on this DVD was great, especially the older clips which gives a healthy respect for their early days. Sure the old stuff was bad quality and the MP3's weren't titled, but it was still well worth it.

In typical Information Society fashion, this DVD is beyond 5 stars and is excellent in both it's concept, production, material, and quality. I pre-ordered it and have viewed/listened to it about a dozen times since it arrived. I can't rate it highly enough. Whether you are an old fan, new fan, curious observer, or someone who like me (who is all of those things) and just can't get enough about what this band was, is, and will always will be, you won't be disappointed. Money VERY well spent. I'd easily pay $100 for this DVD. I hope IS keeps releasing past items like videos on DVD and keeps creating new music/concepts/ideas/world/life commentaries both now and long into the future. The world needs a band like this to keep everything in perspective. Enjoy.

The video skips every few seconds because half of the frames are missing. The rest of the videos look ok, although the video for "Think" also skips sometimes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Show like Always but the DVD production is really bad!, December 17, 2009

I'm a big InSoc fan since the 80's, was the band that I went more times to live gigs (5 times) and watch more than 20 others in video and I can say the show was great and fun like always, really great to watch them back together again and specially HAVING FUN! :D

the bonus stuff are great... loved that old pictures, the videos (aside should be there the videos from The Swamp and both versions of How Long), all was really cool... until have some audible remixes which I didn't expected! :P

but unfortunatelly IMO was the worst edition in a live DVD ever! very bad cuts, somes bad sync, the audio sometimes get very strange, in the start of "think" for exemple is a lot weird! kind of bad mixing between soundboard/ambient sound... what was that?

to get worst the right camera had two ANNOYING white dots on the screen all the time, unbelievable they didn't CLEANED the cam first?!?!? the white dots are there in ALL songs unfortunatelly.

I didn't liked that bar upside the videos also, which aside it's a cool bar it's too much BIG, and cut a lot of the image... and we all know the name of the songs already, don't need ANY info about the videos for sure, I have several DVDs with videos and NO ONE have that crap "dirtying" the videos images... this is common just in Various Artists DVDs... or they tried to hide something behind? dunno...

in the other side the remixes don't had any information about them on the DVD, and these ones we don't know... only if we go to internet to find some info. there should be a kind of like "mtv info" below on the left... well, not big deal anyway... really not important compared with the rest.

aside that the DVD was pretty cool and worht it aside I'm disappointed with the lack of quality and attention InSoc had, they deserved a LOT more than this...

that recording/editing was made for free I guess? or someone really paid for that crap? the Minneapolis show was recorded in 1992, with a LOT worst equipement than this one was recorded, and is SEVERAL times better in quality...

well, at least it's not worst than the production of Kings & Queens of Freestyle Presents: Stevie B

DFD should never treat InSoc like this... the new version of Don't Be Afraid have huge errors on the cover, switched tracklist order and the track "Empty" have a skip! how they released like this anyway? the Synthesizer album also had a tracklisting problem... c'mon it's not that difficult to make it right sometimes... it's really a shame such quality to a so talented band. :(

5 for the band, 4 for the content, 1 for the production: final note = 3! :|
