This book mentions about the relationship between IS strategy and Business strategy. Many books focus on one topic and technical, however, this book explains how should the company balance the two strategies.

Student reservations, August 4, 2000

Because this book was prescribed in a similar course previously, I recommended this as a text along with Stair & Reynolds (ISBN 076001079X) - students could use either, references to both were used in the course. While I thought both were quite reasonable texts (otherwise I would not have recommended them) the first year university students were quite critical of Lauden & Lauden in comparison with the other text (about which I received no complaints). Typically they claimed the the text was difficult to understand, not clear, and did not cover the areas as well as the other text did, and was more expensive. I didn't think the text was all that bad, so I'm left somewhat bemused. I would probably have rated this text as a four, the students seemed to rate it about a two, so I guess three stars is a reasonable average!
