Product Description

The revolutionary infra chef halogen oven is the all in one cooking solution that can: bake, stew, roast, toast, sear, brown, bbq, steam, reheat and much more. The innovative design cooks tastier meats 3-inch by faster using a combination of three methods. First, intense heat transmission- the unique design converts electrical energy into an intense conduction heat just like a traditional oven. Second, infrared waves- the revolutionary heating element emits thermal heat waves that profile and penetrate food directly sealing in flavor and juices giving superior browning and crisping. Third, convection- a hot whirlwind circulates air around the food giving even cooking every time, with no need to turn. Cook meals faster and more easily with the infra chef family size halogen oven today.

I purchased this item online and within one week the timer did not return to zero (stuck at 4 minutes) and continued to run unless I unplugged it. I phoned the company, only to be told by someone called Moe, that they only sold to retailers and they could not help me !Be very wary of any of this company's products.

Sorry, Amazon, but I found this at my local CVS store for....(drumroll)...$49.99!!! reduced from their regular price of $59.99!!! Why it's so much more here, I have no idea.

If you are reading this around Xmastime, RUN do not walk to see if your CVS has this still in stock!!

I bought, sadly, the NuWave oven..$120!!!!! what a mess it was to clean, etc....

The Infra-Chef is same size, but it's basis is a huge, oven-tempered glaas bowl...how easy is that to clean!!!?? PLUS it even washes itself!!

I deeply regret the wasted money on the darn NuWave, but the Infra-Chef makes up for it; whatever you want to do; broil, steam, bake, roast, etc..

It even includes the basic 2 racks, one high and one low, and a non-stick pan, and tongs, and even a lid holder..& of course an instruction booklet with recipes...

As I said, grab this at a CVS if you can.....I sure as HELL wouldnt have paid Amazon's price for it!

So get it and enjoy!!!

I got my Infra Chef Oven about 3 months ago and like my title says, "It was good while it lasted".
I cooked just about everything I could think of from burgers to chicken to toasting english muffins for breakfast. The Infra Chef did a good job with just about everything I threw at it, but the oven just didn't last.
The first thing to go was the timer. It didn't go back the the "0" mark and by not doing so it kept the oven on. Later on it would do the opposite. The timer would reach "0" and the oven would yet still be on!
After a while I got use to checking the food more often, but it was still annoying having to do so.
Later, the heating ring (I think that's what they call it) lit up much darker than usual one day. It still gave off heat so I just thought it was dirty from cooking and I could find a way to clean it later. I didn't give it much attention but as it turned out, it was a sign that it was about to go. Days later the ring just shorted out right in front of me. No light, no heat, nothing!

I didn't pay much for the oven, $50 dollars, so I wasn't too upset and repairing it would've been pointless (to me anyway) if the only thing they could do was to put that same type heating ring in place again. So I kept the bowl and toast rack and threw the rest away.
I had a Nuwave oven before this one, but the dome began to crack so I got the Infra Chef. Too bad it didn't have the quality to last because the food tasted pretty good.

Verified Purchase
The unit came quickly via UPS and all appeared to be OK. I unpacked it, washed what I was supposed to wash, and tried to start cooking. The light come on and the fan goes whirrrrr, but no heat.

The instruction manual had both a toll free number and an email address for Midwestern Trading Group out of the Chicago area. I called them, and the first time they wanted more info on where I got it than I had in front of me, so I hung up, got a printout of the Amazon sales receipt, and called back. This time I got Voice mail and left a message with a call back number, as instructed. For good measure I sent an email message to the address in the instruction manual, attaching a copy of the sales transaction. So far two voice mail messages and one email response, and NO RESPONSE!

I then went to Amazon to return it as defective, and found out I could order another while I am sending the first one back for free. I am giving the product one more chance because I want one, but I have trepidation about anything involving Midwest.

So i will try one more time on my faith in Amazon alone.

Update: Second unit worked. Sent curry one back for free-

I bought this from CVS on Jan 5 2011. It is not working after several times uses. I contacted CVS, and they could not help. There is no customer service contact in the package. I googled the company of the manufactory listed in the package. There is no luck to find. Be aware and avoid to buy.

I've owned this unit for several months now. It's great. I'm a single man with a busy schedule. I take food out of the freezer and throw it in the Infra Chef Oven, set the timer and temperature. Then I go do something else while it's cooking. If I forget about it, I know the will timer shut it off.

I've used air cookers like this since the early 1990s. This one cooks better then models from the past. While I don't think they replace a microwave, it definitely reduces microwave usage. Plus the food tastes a lot better and it's healthy cooking. I use it for all kinds of meat, fish, and vegetables. The taste is a matter of opinion. Meat will taste drier then other methods of cooking, but I happen to like it that way. Fish is extremely flaky. I've never gotten french fries exactly right. Covering one of the racks with aluminum foil provides a none-stick no-clean up way to cook. I cook several things that way, including fried eggs without grease. This type of cooking is perfect for me.

One weakness. It doesn't take long for you to hear the fan starting to labor. But that has always been a weakness with all of these air type cookers. Fat normally drips to the bottom, but some fat will be converted to steam and end up on the fan. But as long as the fan continues to work, I will be using it. When or if it dies, I will buy another.
