5.0 out of 5 stars Verizon FIOS & the right cable box
My FIOS HD (non-DVR) box series QIP6200 had a port labeled "IR". With some internet investigation and an impressivly prompt email reply from the vendor IR-Resources I learned that my FIOS box had only either an IR-output or a service port...which was why the IR receiver would not work.

3.0 out of 5 stars nice looking extender
Double check their compatibility list. Unfortunately I didn't see that part and it didn't work for my cable box. Very nice looking product. I wish it worked for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Verizon FIOS & the right cable box, January 28, 2010

My FIOS HD (non-DVR) box series QIP6200 had a port labeled "IR". With some internet investigation and an impressivly prompt email reply from the vendor IR-Resources I learned that my FIOS box had only either an IR-output or a service port...which was why the IR receiver would not work.
The GREAT news for me was that Verizon (with one phone call & a later trip to the local Verizon center) did a no-cost swap to an updated FIOS HD (non-DVR) box QIP7100 series that had "IR INPUT" port. The IR Recieiver works 1000% as I expected with the 7100 series box. I am now able to put my FIOS box inside a closed door entertainment unit and still have full remote control functions.
Delivery was prompt, the items (I bought 2) were well wrapped etc. and were exactly as represented. The receiver head is small & pretty much invisible on the black frame of my plasma TV and the 9 foot lead wire was plenty......
I'm not sure what happened to the other reviewers but when I first contacted IR Resources they willingly offered me a full refund if I so desired. They also followed thru promptly to update the Amzon posting as not-compatable w/ the Verizon 6000 series ......and again I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH POSITIVE THINGS ABOUT HOW VERY VERY VERY PROMPTLY IR-RESOURCES REPLIED TO MY EMAIL SENT VIA AMAZON. If only every internet vendor was this responsible!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Comcast HD Box, February 1, 2010
This review is from: Infrared Receiver Extender Cable for HD DVR STB's *See Product Description for Compatibility* (Electronics)
I have only had this item a short time and so I have not permanently mounted it nor have I extensively tested it. However, from initial testing, it appears to work as advertised with my Comcast HD STB (RNG 110 (Pace) with an "IR Receive" port). Price of the item is very reasonable and shipping was quick. The device also looks well-made. I would not have trouble recommending this item to anyone having compatible equipment.

5.0 out of 5 stars It works, October 4, 2011

I received the extender and used it with my Comcast box. I'm in an area where we don't have any of the compatible boxes listed available to us. I realized this after the transaction. I went to the Comcast office and showed them the list of boxes I needed and they said they didn't have any of them and gave me the RNG 200 from Cisco. Hooked it up and it totally worked. Ran it through a 1 inch hole in the wall and left my cable box in a cabinet. All I see now is a TV and NO WIRES.

When I originally received this IR receiver and plugged it into my cable STB it did not work well. The receiver would work intermittently and only at short distances.
The vendor, Infrared Resources, followed-up with me several times via email and then sent me a replacement item that works. I'm impressed by their willingness and determination to solve the problem.

I tried the cheaper version of this cord from another seller, and it didn't work. Just received this cord, and it works great. So glad I can hide the DVR box so that blue light isn't shining on me all night.

My new Verizon set top box (HD QIP 7100 1) was not seeing the signals from my remote as well as it should due to high infrared output from my 50-inch plasma TV. The remote's performance was erratic and slow, especially using the relatively-bright on-screen media guide. Things worked fine when I significantly dimmed the plasma TV, but who wants that! This purchase totally solved my problem.

Anyone who has ever had a tuner card installed in their pc,knows that sometimes the ir cable that came with the card is on the cheapy side. I purchased this cable from Amazon, Re:IR Resourses as a replacement. My tuner card is a Sabrent hybred,(also purchased from Amazon)prior. Well, it works great with the Sabrent remote. The Manufacture of this product contacted me because of of a shipper issue. I must add that IR customer service was fantastic ,polite, curtious, and informative, I give IR Resources,Five Stars. MG weakland Dec. 19, 2011.
