4.0 out of 5 stars Public Infrastructure Management, January 13, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Infrastructure Management: Integrating Design, Construction, Maintenance, Rehabilitation and Renovation (Hardcover)
This book provides a helpful tool in trying to understand how the public infrastructure works for us. It stresses how important organization of information is when dealing with a system this large with many integral pieces. Without public infrastructure in this day and age, where would we be? As an example, we often take our roadways for granted. But we never stop to think about how much work is involved in maintaing them, the volume of materials needed, and where the funding comes from. Without coordination and a strong infrastructure management database system, upkeep of important public infrastructure on a daily basis would never be possible. This book put an interesting perspective on how the puzzle is put together.
