The changing station is great.

I am sure things can be improved on this one as well but all in all, it is pretty good and seemed to be the best among the ones I have seen.
Juvvi
It's very sturdy, very attractive with gender neutral colors, easy to set up and take apart, and I use all the options included on here.

We got this play yard just before the birth of our second son and after 2 months with both boys it's proven invaluable as our hub. We keep it on the main level of our house (bedrooms, kid supplies, & changing station etc are upstairs) and it is really key to have a place to change diapers, put the baby down for a nap, store extra baby supplies, etc. It is sturdy enough that I can change my 30 lb 2 year old on it too. It looks very nice so I don't at all mind it being in the corner of our dining room yet being able to wash all the parts means I don't worry when it does get dirty. Pulling the changing cover & basinet cover off is really easy & the basinet part is really soft. The whole thing is thoughtfully designed with attention to details like the mesh pockets on the side of the basinet so I never have to worry about air flow if my son presses his face against the edge while he's sleeping. My husband put it together in just a few minutes and that didn't seem to be a big process at all. I can tell that it will grow well with us as our needs for it change over the next few months. All & all I recommend this product!

A friend had asked me to consider a Graco "Pack n play" instead of a regular crib citing size and ease of use reasons. I was skeptical as I had thought that a crib was a must from the get go. Headed out to the one buy buy baby in the SF bay area to check it out among other things and luckily for me, they had the Ingenuity Play yard right next to the Gracos.

Compared to the Gracos:
- Much more sturdier
- The changing station has four points of support instead of just two.
- Color was nicer (subjective).

buybuybaby did not have it with the napping station (dream center) so purchased it from amazon: I had to return the shipment back to amazon because the one I got was broken (torn bassinet support sleeve and sleep-center supports that would not click into the frame because the receiver was built wrong) but picked up a replacement from toys are us. There I saw one more worthy contender: The Safety 1st Kensington that had a hamper attached to the changing station but no napper (dream center) attachment (also had real thin mattress and was depressing in black). None of the gracos felt superior: Either they had shaky changing stations with 2 points of support or a hard to use napper-flips-to-changer (although I think I saw one comparable, stable graco that was 50 bucks dearer), so once again, repurchased the Ingenuity. This time it was perfect with no issues.

Pros:
- Sturdy: once assembled, feels solid unlike many of the Gracos.

EDIT: This was purchased for us from a store for one seventy...significantly less than this price!

I love this playard. Fairly easy & straightforward to set up. I did have an issue with getting one of the sides to click into place but after the hubs fiddled with it for a minute it snapped together. After that setup was a breeze, & it's very easy to takedown as well.

I will say the changing pad & napping station are a little stiff to get on & off, however, that makes them very sturdy. The baby won't be rolling to the side on this bad boy. HINT: the directions tell you during setup to put the changer on first. You should actually put on the diaper station & THEN the changer, this will make it much easier.

All fabric parts, even the mattress pad, are washable. Unzip the sides, pull out the mattress boards, & throw the whole thing in the wash. Great for little boys who pee everywhere!

Loved it so much that I have 2..one for downstairs & one (the cheaper blue & gray version without the napper) as a bassinet in our bedroom.

Pros:
washable!
gender-neutral
easy setup/takedown
very soft fabric in napper, very easily wipeable fabric everywhere else

Cons:
Limited color selection
Hard to remove changing pad (not really a con since it's so sturdy)

This worked great for our oldest to sleep in. We started using it to change our Newborn but the bottom started unlocking and popping up randomly. Once it started to fold up while he was on the changing pad! Also, It can't be rolled while open. Our 18 month old tried to push it out of his way so he could reach a toy and it collapsed on him.

We emailed about the issue and they told us we were probably setting it up incorrectly and told us to watch the set up video. We follow the set up directions every time and it will stay locked as long as we don't touch it (But what is the point of that!).

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I feel like Goldilocks when it comes to playards. The first playard I bought was an inexpensive Graco. Being a grandma, it served its purpose, but my daughter still carted extra equipment along (like a rock & play sleeper) when they visited. She eventually took that playard home because her portability needs were greater than mine. Playard #2 was an expensive Chicco model. Worst mistake ever--setting up and collapsing was a nightmare. It broke in just a few months.

Ingenuity playard #3 is just right and the one I should have started out with in the first place. Everything about it is no-nonsense. Attractive and gender neutral. Easy set-up and take-down. Practical features you can actually use. So many playards have useless add-ons, like toy gyms or mobiles. I'll take a completely washable playard any day. Everything about it is washable, and that includes the fabric, mattress, changing table/tray, changing table cover, carrying bag, and dream center. I am especially impressed with the softness of the fabric--everything lays well and is smooth.

No playard seems to come with the perfect mattress, including this one. It's not that bad, but the slat boards can still be felt and I need a playard primarily for grandkid sleeping quarters. I had bought Dream On Me 3" Foam Play Yard Mattress for the Chicco playard but it fits well in this playard too. The Ingenuity mattress measures 39" x 27". Standard mattress pad covers and sheets work well with this playard, and so do handmade flannel/extra soft fitted sheets that are found on Etsy and Ebay.

This playard suits my needs perfectly.
