iv had this product for about 3 years now and its still going just as strong as day one. and its been through the rough and back. i am an ase cert tech in a dealership and use this cordless A LOT. still on the original battery as well. few dents and dings, but nothing to bad. this driver replaced my old snap on unit. (after being sent back to snap on for service 5 times with the same issue i gave up and went for this one) much stronger and has the power to get the rusty bolts out, but not to crazy to brake them. on a full charge and with a little help it can take off almost any lug nut, but if that's your plan i would strongly advise steeping up to a 1/2 inch iqv set up. i did not order it through amazon as it was not available here yet, but i paid waaayyy more off the toll truck.

all in all, no isues at all yet, 3 years or abuse and going like new. i do not own the 1/2 but will be my next buy once my old one fails. best unit out there by far and a very good investment.

Overall this is a great tool, especially for the price compared to the big tool guys like Snap-On and Matco, and I've used it professionally in a shop environment for almost a year without any problems. Performance is the same as the Snap-On gun but it uses lithium-ion batteries instead of the behind-the-times ni-cad batteries of the Snap On unit. It looks great, is strong, and the twist-to-lock batteries are cool (also the on battery charge indicator) and also hold juice for a long time. Really the only thing working against it when using it every day in a shop is the size, a large battery and a very long nose put the weight far from your hand making it a little cumbersome to use daily. I sacrificed the lithium-ion and got the Snap-On gun for use at work for it's compactness and class-leading ergonomics, but still use this great IR tool at home. I should note that the Snap-On unit is over $100 more than the IR for the equivalent kit (tool, charger, case, 2 batteries).

I am a mechanical engineer so I have a little bit of knowledge regarding tools. First off, why are your lug nuts on so tight? They are only suppose to be torqued on at about 85-90 ft/lbs. The gun is rated at 150ft/lbs so of course it will struggle to break anything loose that is tighter than that. There are many other impact tools out there but nothing near the amount of ft/lbs offered by this tool for the price. Dewalt, Milwaukee, Bosch, and what ever else is out there do have impact tools that have some power. But most of their compact impact wrenches are only pushing about 120-135 ft/lbs for their 18 volt lines. Bosch does offer a 1/2 inch impact wrench that puts out about 500ft/lbs but the gun is about 10 inches long and 7 lbs. It also costs about around $500. Also, Ingersoll Rand Impact wrenches are mainly used for automotive and Mechanical uses because of the way they are designed. The Ingersoll Rand Impacts concentrate the power on loosening fasteners rather than tightening them. Dewalt, Milwaukee, and Bosch's impact guns target the building contractor end user so their torque is evenly distributed in both loosening and tightening applications. They also build the Ingersoll Rand Impacts with tough Metal housings so they are more durable to dropping and sliding them as opposed to the other impact guns that are just made of plastic. Try buying a milwaukee impact and drop it a few times. Then try dropping the Ingersoll Rand a few times. It's more than likely the plastic housing of the milwaukee will crack. Also, check out what brand of tools they use for Indy and nascar. A lot of them are using Ingersoll Rand. I have never heard of any of them using Milwaukee LOL. It is because Ingersoll Rand is a trusted name in the mechanics business. They were the first company to come out with the impact gun.
