FINALLY THERE'S AN AUDIO COURSE TO HELP NATIVE SPANISH SPEAKERS ACHIEVE PERFECT AMERICAN ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION! Inglés ¡Qué buen acento! is the new English pronunciation system for Spanish speakers who want to lose their foreign accents fast. It is written specifically for Spanish speakers by ESL instructor Santiago Reynaga. Inglés ¡Qué buen acento! offers a simple and effective way to start speaking more clearly and so much like a native that people will no longer ask about your accent. It’s gone! This easy-to-use system includes a 126-page book, 95 minutes of audio material on two CDs, plus a handy carrying case. Take it with you in the car, on the bus or train. Take it to work. Lose your accent during lunch break! Inglés ¡Qué buen acento! is ideal for self-study and for classroom use. Use the Inglés ¡Qué buen acento! system to master all English vowel and consonant sounds and the phonetic symbols that go with them. Hear the difference between Spanish sounds and English sounds. Pronounce any English word without an accent! Inglés ¡Qué buen acento! is complete. There are no extras to buy. The system includes: * Two audio CDs with the voice of author Santiago Reynaga as well as four native speakers of English.
* An explanation of every major sound in the English language. And many examples.
* A comparison of the English sounds with the similar Spanish sound. How do English and Spanish pronunciation differ? Which English language sounds are “traps” for Spanish speakers?
* Each chapter on sounds includes the “Listen & Compare” section. Hear the difference on CD. Then repeat the English pronunciation. You said it. You did it. Congratulations!
* Lessons on advanced aspects of pronunciation, including all the nuances that identify a native speaker of English. Know the difference between strong and weak forms. Master the contractions of everyday conversation. Talk like a native, sound like a native speaker of English!
* A section on tongue-twisters and how to untangle them. Readings that target the specific sounds that can give you away as a Spanish first-language speaker and not a native speaker of English.
* A handy glossary of “false friends” (falsos amigos). Learn these and stop being “embarrassed” by your mistakes in English!

Review

"Simply studying every day or at least three times per week, for 15 minutes, you will be able to speak better English, with a smooth accent. Inglés ÂQué buen acento! is the course that will help you solve your problems of pronunciation and get rid of your strong accent." -- Acento Latino newspaper

-- Acento Latino newspaper

5.0 out of 5 stars Nuevo manual de pronunciación inglesa indispensable para los hispanohablantes, July 15, 2005
This review is from: Ingles: Que Buen Acento! An English Pronunciation Guide for Spanish Speakers (Book & 2 Audio CDs) (Spanish Edition) (Plastic Comb)

4.0 out of 5 stars I found it useful, April 5, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Ingles: Que Buen Acento! An English Pronunciation Guide for Spanish Speakers (Book & 2 Audio CDs) (Spanish Edition) (Plastic Comb)
I am retired in Mexico and volunteer as an English teacher. My only previous teaching experience had been tutoring with the Literacy Network in Lee, MA, so I am always looking for references and support material, which has led me to some expensive and disappointing purchases but not in this case.

The text used in the program for which I volunteer does not address pronunciation but proceeds on the assumption that everyone can learn to speak a foreign language by mimicry; an assumption I find untrue. This book includes explanations in Spanish and the speakers on the CD's have a clear Midwestern (6:00 o'clock national news) accent (I am from the South), so it has worked very well in the introduction of the material.

The jury is out on whether my students can improve their accents from the material as I just began using it but I am hopeful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great if your trying to learn English, January 18, 2012

This review is from: Ingles: Que Buen Acento! An English Pronunciation Guide for Spanish Speakers (Book & 2 Audio CDs) (Spanish Edition) (Plastic Comb)
My co-worker is from Peru, and she could barely speak English, but she wanted to learn. I brought this as a gift for her, and in less then a year, she has shown great progress! The audio and workbook really gave her the tools to pick up so much in that amount of time. She likes speaking to me in English to help her practice, and help her with unfamiliar words, but she doesn't need much help from me.
