dissappointed!,

We read all the reviews and were of course impressed. We couldn't try it out because we live a couple hours outside the nearest city and waited till the last minute (before a big trip) to buy the stroller. We had been using the snap and go but realized the baby needed to be able to recline during the trip. This stroller is soo cheaply made!! The handles and the wheels are made of CHEAP plastic, especially the handles! They feel like they will break any second. Also my husband is 6'3" and we were sold on the stroller because were were told it would work for him. Even with the handles extended it's too short. If we hadn't needed a stroller for the trip, we would have definitely returned it. If you care about quality, don't get this stroller!

Greatest stroller ever!,

This review is from: Inglesina 2010 Zippy Stroller, Fiamma (Baby Product)
We are first time, older (36 & 45) professional parents (physicians) with very busy lives, and we do alot airline travel. We bought this stroller after much online research and what impressed us the most was the one handed fold. We thought it too good to be true. Well, it is NOT overated. The one hand fold is unbelievable - fast, reliable and the stroller folds to a very compact size that stands. It is a breeze getting this through security at the airport (get the travel bag).Overall, the size is perfect: Big enough to carry enough baby gear to allow to you to walk Boston's Freedom trail all day, yet not so big you need flashers on all four corners to let people know you are coming. It is of superb quality, has never broken down or showing even the slightest of wear. Our baby is comfortable in it, and the 5 point safety harness is very easy to use. It is no more than 30 seconds from the time you stroll up to your mommy mobile, until you are driving. Baby is out, in car seat, stroller folded and stowed. It couldn't be easier. It also worked perfectly with the Graco Snug Ride. The only weak spot on this stroller is the cup holder does not work for anything. Won't hold a water bottle or cup of coffee. Also, the back will not fold completely flat, but nearly so. This stroller is nearly perfect. We would by this stroller again in a heartbeat.

Best Stroller We've Ever Owned,

This review is from: Inglesina 2010 Zippy Stroller, Fiamma (Baby Product)
We purchased our first zippy inglesina in 2004 when our first child was born. That stroller lasted 6 years, through two children (boys) and over three continents of travel on approximately 30+ airline flights. This new stroller now transports the latest edition to our family in his baby car seat. The new zippy inglesina has a functionally similar design to the old stroller, with improved look and feel. We have owned a total of 6 strollers and/or joggers and this one is by far our favorite. It has held at least four different brands of baby car seats leading me to believe that it will hold any baby car seat. The stroller opens and closes and can be driven with one hand, is sturdy, has enough room to transport all of our baby crap, yet collapses in to a relatively small bundle for transportation. The new stroller has a smoother ride than the previous model - in the same way that my 2008 BMW has a smoother ride than my 2005 Acura. I would recomend this stroller to anyone. It looks great, works great, and has been very reliable and handy for our family. Thank you, ZIPPY! PS. - Be sure to pick up one of these very handy attachements for your new stroller. This review is from: Inglesina 2010 Zippy Stroller (Baby Product)
We researched strollers extensively before deciding to splurge a little on an Inglesina Zippy. Amazon's (MUCH) lower price than other outlets helped us make the decision in favor of purchasing the 2010 model instead of trying to get an older model on sale. Our stroller arrived quickly and though it came with assembly instructions from the nuts-and-bolts stage, it was already 90% assembled in the box. About 45 easy-going minutes of reading the manuals and unpacking accessories, and I got the remaining 10% attached (like the canopy, the carry basket, the drink holder, the snack tray, etc). Directions were very clear and had lots of pictures, Ikea-style. The color we chose, Fiamma, is a very cheerful red-- I think of this stroller as my son's first candy-apple red Italian sportster. The fabric is smooth and reasonably soft (not plush), but very practical-- well padded and the "ballistic" style fabric makes it seem more than up to the washings and abuse it will undergo over the next several years. All the fabric parts are totally removable and washable by hand. The canopy is HUGE and will definitely keep the hot Southern sun off of baby. The styling is very gender-neutral, so Dad won't feel silly pushing this stroller. The stroller feels very sturdy, the suspension is nice, and the handle bars both telescope and pivot so that people of different heights and different grips can push comfortably. The wheels are easy to lock and unlock with your foot. The famous one-handed fold REALLY WORKS. It takes no time to figure out at all. Push a button with your thumb, pull up on the handle next to the button with the rest of your fingers. Folds up tight and in a snap, and is light enough for a (VERY) pregnant mom to lift one-handed and carry. The stroller really does happily sit upright after being folded, even with all the accessories on. The truly amazing part is that the stroller fit into the trunk of my '99 VW New Beetle. Really, trunks don't get much smaller than a New Beetle trunk, and it fit like a glove. I could probably squeeze the diaper bag in there, too. The seat itself tilts almost completely flat for a newborn, and the leg area of the seat tilts up so that little babies can't slip out-- I have heard that the 5 point harness is a little big for tiny babies, so the fold up footrest is comforting. With the seat back, you can also put most of the well-known car seats available on the market (ours is a Graco Snugride 35) into the stroller, secure it with the provided straps, and Presto! Instant travel system. We have the bumper bar installed so that we can use the stroller with our car seat, but the included snack tray can be swapped out for the bumper bar with two quick button clicks. The basket below the stroller is a good size and is made of a fabric that will resist puddle-splashes. You can also hang bags off of the handles and the stroller does not tip, even when empty (not that I recommend loading up your stroller handles). The little cup holder is big enough to hold a baby bottle or smaller diameter cup, but is not going to hold a Big Gulp. A rain hood is provided, but this year's model does not include the boot. We live in a warm climate, so rain is more of a concern for us than frigid weather. As to Customer Service: Our box arrived from Amazon with one end damaged-- there was a large tear. When assembling our stroller, we noted that we were missing the bumper bar-- perhaps because it fell out of the box. Since we had already unpacked and opened everything, we really did not want to pack it all up and ship it back just to get the missing piece. I called Amazon and asked if I would simply be able to get the part from Inglesina, and they assured me I could. It was a crucial piece if I wanted to use the stroller with my car seat (and I do). Fact: Inglesina customer service is only available by phone on weekdays for the first half of the day, Eastern time. I was unable to reach them by phone when I tried the first day and when I called back the second day during those hours. That worried me at first. I think it may be true that they only have 1 person handling US Customer Service rather than farming it out to an answering service in a far-off land. They did accept recorded messages. HOWEVER-- I sent an email after failing to reach them by phone the second morning. I explained my problem, what I wanted (a bumper bar), and included my shipping information and scans of my receipt and the registration card for the stroller as proof of purchase. I received a very nice reply within 24 hours stating that I would indeed receive a replacement part free of charge in 5 business days and advising me to check a certain area of the stroller to make sure the part wasn't tucked away there. Since I had already assembled the stroller and played with it quite a lot, I was sure, I told them I was sure via email, and about a week later, my bumper bar arrived. No problems, no questions asked, right on schedule, just what I needed. In the end, I would say the customer service was really quite good, but a little quirky. If you've ever been to Italy, you already know that "la pazienza non è mai troppa!" (you can never be too patient) are words to live by. Very happy with this long-awaited purchase and will update this review as needed.

This review is from: Inglesina 2010 Zippy Stroller, Ink (Baby Product)
Pros: Nice looking, seat fully reclines for newborns and naptime, the basket is easy to access and a decent size, the handles are adjustable and best of all-closing and opening it one-handed is a breeze.Cons: It does not feel as sturdy as I hoped, though regardless that is feels jiggly at times, it is holding up very well. Also, although the canopy can fold all the way down to the bar, there isn't anywhere to snap the floppy fabric to stay covering your baby. Thus, folding it all the way down is pointless. Also, I hate the way you attach the infant car seats, with buckles. You have to keep track of these buckles and it is not a quick process to get going and on with your day. I wish it would just snap right in. That said, I love the stroller, though I think I will love it more when my baby is older and doesn't need the infant carseat anymore. I may also need to purchase one of those large sunshades to replace the current one. Luckily, the canopy easily snaps off, so that won't be an issue. The best part is the ease of closing/opening quickly-it's invaluable for a busy mom.

NO SNACK TRAY!?!?!?!?!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Inglesina 2010 Zippy Stroller, Ecru (Baby Product)
I was excited to get this stroller but when it arrived there was no snack tray. I thought it was left out in error. When I called Inglesina they said they discontinued the snack trays for the 2010 model. I don't know why some of the reviewers said they got one with their stroller...either they did include them with some of the 2010 models or they had an older model. Anyway just a warning that you may not get the snack tray and it may be hard to find a new one to purchase.Other than not having the snack tray I like the stroller overall. The ecru fabric looks nicer in person, also in the picture the lighter parts look creme or ivory color but it is actually more khaki or beige/tan. I was worried about dirt showing easily but it's a darker color than it looks on my computer screen so I don't think that will be a problem. I did notice the handles seem wobbly but this is prob due to the telescoping and adjustable features. My husband said they feel cheap like they might break easily. Hopefully this isn't the case. It's very easy to fold and unfold. Hubby thinks it's heavy esp since he is used to our old Maclaren but I don't mind because it folds compactly for its features. The canopy is nice but I did notice there is no pocket on the back like the 2009 model has and also there's not an extra flap that pulls down in the front like the 09 model, but it still gives good coverage. I like that it stands when folded and doesnt tip over with things on the handles and hopefully I can get my hands on a snack tray. I had originally ordered the Peg Perego Si but I returned it for the Zippy which I like the look of much better. The Si is lighter but looks cheaper and not as nice and the bumper bar on the Si is ugly. The bumper bar on the Zippy is a lot better.

The Only Stroller We Need,
By
This review is from: Inglesina 2010 Zippy Stroller, Marina (Baby Product)
We purchased a 2009 Inglesina Zippy and I can't say enough good things about it. We'd heard stories about people buying multiple strollers for multiple purposes and we didn't want that. We wanted ONE that would do it all. The Zippy fit the bill. When our baby was very new, we could just plop our Chicco KeyFit right in it. Now that he's a little older, he's very happy riding around in it. I mostly use it on sidewalks and walking paths, frequently with my dog (a Boston Terrier) walking alongside. I ADORE the handling of it. It turns on a dime and is such a smooth ride for me and my baby. I can easily fold it up with one hand while holding my baby in the other. It has a standing fold (but you DO need to make sure you lock the front wheels first). I don't think I could get it into the car with one hand, but one of the reasons we chose this particular stroller is because it fits in the back of our very small Scion XA. It's not PERFECT.... I would like the cup holder to be a bit bigger (though it does stretch) and while the underbasket is actually fairly generous, it's not easy to get things into. Other than that, however, I think this is a really good stroller to have. I heart it!You may also want to check out babygizmo.com. They have video reviews of this stroller and others. That's what ultimately won us over!

Not for us,
By
This review is from: Inglesina 2010 Zippy Stroller (Baby Product)
We purchased the 2009 Zippy. All I can say is that it was a complete disappointment. The wheels do not fold into the proper position and make storing and moving in a folded position difficult. The product does not latch in to place well and often requires extra care to get it latched in. The stroller is extremely difficult to push directionally if you only have one hand on the stroller. If you have a dog and plan to take the dog for walks with the stroller, you will have an extremely difficult time. There is very little room for storage at the bottom and getting items in and out of the storage can be difficult. I would hardly consider this lightweight.

Great, good and not so great...,

This review is from: Inglesina 2010 Zippy Stroller, Ecru (Baby Product)
Good:1. breaks down VERY easily and fits perfectly in the back of car or trunk. 2. Smaller and so fits well in aisles, dressing rooms, etc. 3. Sun visor moves all the way forward - not permanently attached to the back of stroller - because come on the sun will eventually be at their eye level as well late in the day. 4. Adequate storage underneath 5. Now I do not advocate this, but I have been able to hang pretty darn heavy bags from the handles - DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS UNLESS you're holding the the stroller already!!! Otherwise the stroller and your child could fall back and smash their head on the concrete!! Bad 1. Difficult to steer one handed 2. No drink holders for the adults by the handles - only drink holders in front for babies/children 3. Not a ton of storage underneath 4. When reassembling stroller from the trunk - not easily done while wearing a skirt or dress... :) Overall this a great stroller for storing in my car and using from there. I use the jeep stroller for the substantial storage (farmer's market runs from the house) and long walks.

Buy the 2009 Zippy if you can find one still,
This review is from: Inglesina 2010 Zippy Stroller (Baby Product)
I have the 2009 Inglesina Zippy and I have absolutely no complaints. I bought it because I didn't want to buy multiple strollers as my baby grew. My son will be two next month and it's still the only stroller we've had.It looks like Inglesina took back some of the features that makes the 2009 so great. The canopy with the extra visor (available only in 2009) is the best I have ever seen in any stroller. It can cover the entire seat when it's upright. The 2009 model also includes the snack tray, the foot muff, rain cover, and the pocket on the back of the canopy for extra storage. I don't know if I got a really good one but I am able to drive it with one hand without extra discomfort. The seat reclines easily and it lays all the way flat. One of the best features of this stroller is the fact that it will never tip back. We live in Orlando and visit the theme parks often. We have placed 3-4 bags (diaper bag, big SLR camera bags, snack backpack, etc) around the handles and even without my son in the stroller, it stays upright. That's one thing I haven't seen another stroller handle. In my opinion, the stroller is compact and lightweight. It travels really well. Again, we're able to take it in and out of the trams in the theme park with ease. The only "drawback" would be the size of the storage basket but honestly I haven't missed it because I'm able to put everything I carry around the handles like I mentioned. If you can find a 2009 Zippy, I don't think you'd be disappointed. |
