These candles are awesome. I was a bit skeptical to order them, fearing they may be a corny version of a real candle, but they are not. These candles are very nice. Very natural looking, pleasant smell and very nice lighting. Alot of the flameless candles you see in the store have a very fake wick and look a bit hokey. These have a natural wick and very nice glow when lit. Definitely worth the money.

I work from home as an editor. And even though a lot of people think its a little funny, having things like candles and incense going really does help with getting the creative flow moving at times. They just help create a nice warm comforting atmosphere that is conducive to helping one stay focused. Real candles have the advantage of the nice scent of course, but are dangerous if left unattended, and of course burn out after a while. I bought a couple of these flame less candles for I like the idea of just having the glow around the house without the worry. These Inglow candles have come to fit the bill quite nicely. Even though its not really stressed in the description, these candles are actually made of a hard wax. When I discovered this I was a little skeptical figuring a klutz like me would eventually find a way to drop or break the thing. But the wax is of a tough variety that has a shiny finish that helps prevent it from being fragile. They are very realistic looking, appearing even close up as a typical pillar candle. The actual "flame" (which is really a single LED bulb) is inset about two inches deep into the pillar for optimal light distribution. A nice touch for sure. Some other reviewers here have made it a point of mentioning that the wick in this candle is very realistic looking. The bulb looks like a little flame and may not really look realistic, but its not all fake looking or ugly. (Actually with the "flame" being inset as it is and hardly noticeable, I feel its next to a mute point). Three AAA batteries install in the bottom and a switch turns it on and off, with a 5 hour timer that is also a nice touch. Unlike real candles you can just turn them on at night and forget them when its time for bed. They really are nice and well worth the price in my opinion. The only downside I have seen with this candle is the flickering to me is a little much. It's more like the little lamp blinking very quickly on and off rather than a dim flicker. I mean the flickering is definitely a nice feature as opposed to it being a steady light, but it really does flicker a lot more than a real candle would. In a dark room it really is very noticeable, and could for some people come to be distracting, or annoying. Personally I do not find it either, but I thought it was worth mentioning. All in all these candles are very nice looking, reasonably priced, safe anywhere, and the single LED light means the batteries in it should last hundreds of hours. Recommended for most any ambiance you may have in mind...

This is a very realistic flickering candle. This vanilla one had the candle wax tint I was after. I am not a fan of the scent of vanilla, but the scent of these are not strong at all. I love the timer idea, but I wish it was eight hours or settable, rather than just five hours as I use them in my office and I am taking one star off for the five hour limit. There is a simple three way switch on the bottom. Off, On and Timer. Whatever time you turn them on in the timer position will have them flicker for five hours and then they will turn themselves off and then turn back on at the same time the next day.
