Even more than the analyses of the films, I find the interviews comprehensive and revelatory. Too bad the laws of supply and demand make obtaining or ever seeing on cable television few if any of Bergman's poems of movies--at least in the part of the country where I live (a bad combination of bluecollar and redneck). Anyway, the book is excellent; I wish someone would do one comparable to it on the films of Louis Bresson.
