Impressive presentation of a master's work
There are many books on famous master drawings, such as Ingres. But this Drawing Gallery book is by far the best presenation of drawings I have seen for the price. The clarity and size of each of the many Ingres works provided in this book make it a fascinating insight into the amazing line quality, composition, and depth of emotion captured in his subjects. Master artist's drawings
This is a review of an exhibit of Ingres' drawings, but not the one I was looking for. I saw another Ingres show at the Louvre a few years ago and was disappointed that there was no catalogue, especially since I was looking for his loving drawings of babies and small children. Those were his favorite subjects and they are mostly in private collections and therefore not...

There are many books on famous master drawings, such as Ingres. But this Drawing Gallery book is by far the best presenation of drawings I have seen for the price. The clarity and size of each of the many Ingres works provided in this book make it a fascinating insight into the amazing line quality, composition, and depth of emotion captured in his subjects. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to explore his drawings.

This is a review of an exhibit of Ingres' drawings, but not the one I was looking for. I saw another Ingres show at the Louvre a few years ago and was disappointed that there was no catalogue, especially since I was looking for his loving drawings of babies and small children. This book is only an introduction and I'm hopeful there will be other books coming out with more of those wonderful drawings.
