This book shares a wonderful history of a not so popular area on the Texas-Mexico border. I recommend anyone who is researching or who has interest in the city called Guerrero Viejo/Antigua Ciudad Guerrero/Revilla/ranchos de Zapata to read this book.

4 of 5 people found the following review helpful By Gloria A. Downey on October 31, 2008
Format: Paperback
This is the most informative book I have ever read on a subject that was always part of my childhood, my grandmother and grandfather were from Revilla, my grandfather was a Pena, as a child I heard many of these stories. My father was a decendent of some of these pioneer settlers and used to tell me many of these stories. This book fills in many gaps and lost memories. I have read it several times and learn something new every time I read it.
The book is amazing, it is detailed in the research and in the way it describes what the early settlers of the area went through in order to to fulfil their dreams.

The charts presented in this title are essential to the author's work. Nevertheless, the charts presented electronically are unreadable. This interesting book is being undermined by such substandard electronic rendition. I would recommend Amazon fans -not- to buy this Kindle edition.
