Book Description

Inheritance From A Stranger is a novel about a beautiful young woman who owns and manages a highly successful fashion empire in New York City. When Jordan Keats inherits a large fortune in Texas, she is not aware that there are strings attached. In order to claim the inheritance, she must move to a ranch near a small town north of Dallas. After long suffering soul searching, she decides to sell her fashion enterprise and move to the ranch. She meets a neighboring rancher and the two fall in love. Jordan did not know the elderly woman who named her as sole heir in her will. She is determined to find out what connection, if any, she had with her benefactor. With her fiance, Clay Tanner, Jordan conducts her own investigation into the secrets hidden behind the walls at the Dos Pesos ranch.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Enjoyable and Effortless Read March 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Inheritance from a Stranger is a well-written story with characters that upon meeting you immediately want to know more about. The protagonist, Jordan, is a strong, highly successful business woman who fits right in with New York society, and yet is down-to-earth enough to make the simpler life at the Dos Pesos horse ranch her own. I liked her right from the start and enjoyed watching her personality gain a certain charm as she adjusted to her new life.

This book flows seamlessly through its plot, which has just the right balance of characterization, local color, romance, and mystery. Hines's use of language made this an effortless book to read.

There were scenes early in the book where the author left me wanting for more time with Jordan and the other characters she met as she began her new life. But, the author urged me onward with the mystery of Jordan's inheritance as the plot advanced and I was not disappointed.

I enjoyed reading this effortless story and recommend it.
