Well crafted story,

This review is from: Inheritance of a Sword and a Path (The Earthrin Stones, Book 1) (Bk. 1) (Paperback)
I ordered this book a little over a week ago,and figured I'd like it, but not as much as I did. What I didn't expect was that the storyline would suck me in as much as it did. This is a very well written book for a first time author. There's a lot of depth to the characters that you normally wouldn't expect. The descriptions of the lands and surroundings makes you feel immersed in the story. I cannot wait for the second book in the series to make it to print.

One of the best fantasy books I have ever read,

One thing that I absolutely loved about this book was the character development. The author didn't give everything about a character up at first glance, and even if it seemed that he had, I would be surprise a couple chapters later with a subtle revelation about the moral composition of the characters. As the author was weaving these characters into the story it was impossible to not imagine myself there too. This book is full of action, adventure, and just the right amount of romance. Above all else, this book was amazing. I can hardly wait to read the next two.

Author Takes You With Him,

This review is from: Inheritance of a Sword and a Path (The Earthrin Stones, Book 1) (Bk. 1) (Paperback)
The author has the rare ability to write in such a way that it takes the reader right along with for the ride. You can see the textures, hear the sounds of battle, the rustling of the leaves. The humor interwoven througout the story shows up when it's most needed and the characters are engaging.
I really enjoyed this book and found myself drawn into the scenes in a way that is a rare author skill. You aren't given all the information about each character immediately, but instead must wait for details to be revealed as the story itself unfolds in your mind. Excellent book and I am counting the days for the next one!

First Time Book, First Rate Story,

This review is from: Inheritance of a Sword and a Path (The Earthrin Stones, Book 1) (Bk. 1) (Paperback)
This is the author's very first book every published. And considering that...this story is amazing. The characters are very fleshed out, and you get to know each one intimately. Including the bad guys. (I love bad guys that you can see as people, even if you hate them).
Minus a few editing errors, this book is beautiful. The land is described, the culture is immense, and the details are perfect. Just enough to give you a look into the world, not enough to put you to sleep. I recommend this book to everybody, because it's a fantasy book that is original, fresh, and needed for the genre.

A truly special tale,

This is a wonderful story about the son of a blacksmith suddenly adventuring his way into manhood. And of course he gatherers a memorable group of friends along the way. Some overly thorough descriptions slow the pacing, but once things get started this is not a book you can put down. The author's incredibly detailed combat scenes are quite notable. The depictions of the friends will never let you think of warriors, rogues or mages in the same way again. This is a definite read!

Bookworm's treasure,
This review is from: Inheritance of a Sword and a Path (The Earthrin Stones, Book 1) (Bk. 1) (Paperback)
Simply put, this is an excellently written book! Oh true the first page or three is a bit clunky, but after that, the book absolutely takes off! The characters are well fleshed-out, the world is vibrant and real. And the interactions between the five main characters are an absolute hoot sometimes! There are also plenty of moments where I wondered how the characters possibly survived what they went through. Everything just draws the reader in further. I had to pick up the second book just to see what happens next!
This is definitely a good addition for any reader's personal library! |
