Fourteen year old Mark Talbot's parents are killed in a car accident. He is sent to live with a Maori family in New Zealand. His inherited family helps him toward manhood with understanding and love. They teach him things that can't be learned from books or a classroom.

Robert Barlow Fox is retired as teacher/counselor/caseworker/parole officer/missionary. He is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators. He lives with his wife in Utah where they enjoy their mountain scenery and are able to visit their children and grandchildren.
