Biography

With six years under their belt and countless international tours to prove it, the Koffin Kats show no sign of slowing down. This trio blasted out of Detroit in June of 2003 with the mission to not stop for anything. Vic Victor (Lead Vocal, Upright Bass) would join forces with long time friend Tommy Koffin (Guitar) and start laying the ground work for the sonic assault known as The Koffin Kats.… Read more in Amazon's Koffin Kats Store

Editorial Reviews

LIFE IN A BUNGALO zine says the following about the Koffin Kats' album "Inumane": "The Koffin Kats are the best thing to happen to American psychobilly since The Quakes, and the band's full-length "Inhumane" is sheer genius. Equal parts scorching punk and grooving rockabilly, "Inhumane" rocks in every way thanks largely to the insane range of singer Vic Victor's voice. I dare any punk rocker to sing along to these tunes and even try to match this guys range. He croons like a bastard child of Glenn Danzig and Dave Vanian. After the token psychobilly intro tune, The Koffin Kats stray from their traditional sound, destroying everything around them with break-neck speed punk reminiscent of Mad Sin or Demented Are Go. From there its just swinging madness of corpses, demons, zombies and things that cannot be explained. The best track on the record is the sequel to "Graveyard Tree" from the band's first e.p. "Graveyard Tree II" is a bass-thumping rocker that starts off slow and just builds to this insane climax with a searing guitar solo that begs to go on forever. This CD is a must for any fan of punk rock. This is not the same old psychobilly formula, nor is this some metal band from Germany passing itself off as rockabilly. This is perfect rock 'n' roll in every way. 1. Mors Ex Infernos 2. Hatred 3. Darker Place 4. Caught Up 5. Chainsaw Massacre 6. Vampires Curse 7. Demon Demon 8. She's Deadly 9. Melt Down 10. 5.0 out of 5 stars Totally Awesome!, November 22, 2006

These guys are great. Hard Rocking psychobilly with a eerie edge. Also all the members of the band are mentally handicapped (and also physically as Vic has a wooden leg and Tommy has a glass eye) which is a real inspiration to handicapped people everywhere. It just goes to show what anyone can do if you put your mind to it.

The Koffin Kats are hard to describe.... The best way I can think of is if you take the Stray Cats, the Misfits, and the Reverend Horton Heat and put them in a blender. The music itself is a mixture of rockabilly and punk with morbid lyrics thrown in for good measure. I bought this cd on a whim because I like the genre and they got kudos for being a local band. I loved the cd, but got an even bigger appreciation for them when I saw them live. It's hard to tell how talented they are until you see a stand up bass played upside down, behind the back, and straddled like a horse! It was also cool when the guitarist and bassist criss crossed and played each others instruments on stage! Bottom line, buy this cd - you won't be disappointed. Also, if you have a chance to see them live, go for it. How many nationally known bands hang play hole in the wall venues, hang out in the bar before the show, and are cool as s**t when you talk to them over a beer?
