More About the Author

Stan Lee is a man who needs no introduction. Nevertheless: Having begun his career with wartime Timely Comics and staying the course throughout the Atlas era, Stan the Man made comic-book history with Fantastic Four #1, harbinger of a bold new perspective in story writing that endures to this day. With some of the industry's greatest artists, he introduced hero after hero in Incredible Hulk, Amazing Spider-Man, X-Men and more -- forming a shared universe for rival publishers to measure themselves against. After an almost literal lifetime of writing and editing, Lee entered new entertainment fields and earned Marvel one opportunity after another. He remains one of Marvel's best-known public representatives.

The original appearances of the Inhumans in the Fantastic Four comic are all here. The trouble is, many of the stories feature only appearances of one or another of the Inhumans. Most of these are still good FF stories so you can't go wrong with this.

This could have been called Fantastic Four collection. 90% of it is just reprints that are already in the second FF Omnibus. About 35 pages are reprinted Kirby pages from The Mighty Thor 146-152 that were not collected in the second Thor Omnibus. I suspect Marvel is milking Kirby fans to buy this TP for those 35 pages. Especially seeing the insane price of $40 for a TP.
However, to be fair, the quality of the paperback is very good. The same colors are used as in the Omnibus, but due to the paper being more matte I like it even better. The paper is thinner than the Omnibus, but good quality. And of course it reads much easier than the huge and heavy Omnibus.

These are the earliest stories featuring the Inhumans, who initially looked like bizarrely baroque villains to the more mainstream Fantastic Four. But while Reed sensed there was more going on, Johnny fell for the beautiful Crystal, and Sue wanted only to help! Ben had to prove his might as usual, but Blackbolt, Karnak, Gorgon and Triton were all as tough as they looked. Well, until you busted Triton's water-bag cloak, oops! A freaky introduction to the non-mutant version of Earth's master race, expertly illustrated by Kirby/Sinnot at their peak. Considering the Infinity/Inhumanity crossovers going on now in current Marvel comics, this is a timely look back at the iconic versions of these original FF supporting players/antagonists/allies.

Awesome book. If you are a fan of the Fantastic Four and The Inhumans this is the book for you. Reprinting the issues of The FF that introduced The Inhumans to the world. Great art by the master Jack Kirby and stories written by Stan ' The Man' Lee.

Almost passed this one up because of the price. Glad I didn't. Well worth it. Total Lee and Kirby insanity! Amazing how much action and adventure they crammed into each story. A great read from a great time in the history of these great characters.
